I just not sure i think it’s a good Count of Monte Cristo story. It really does lose itself in the despair of the plot and it makes the ending feel hollow. The Count doesn’t have much of an opportunity to do good deeds for the sake of doing good deeds.

I think in terms of adaptation, while there is a lot to pick apart in all versions since it’s impossible to cover all the book does in a movie, despite that I do feel the 1975 is still the strongest adaptation Ive seen so far because it does allow itself moments to be silly and BOY was the book full of gags and silliness for the sake of bringing levity to what is easily a very depressing tale. The book didn’t want to you to just sit in melancholy and despair, it wanted you to feel the full range of emotions all the characters where feeling over the course of the story, and the moments where it was playful or earnest and sweet or vulnerable were the ones that stuck with me the most.

but for the past times u talked abt ur bi roommate and ONLY him. U. Dont. Say anythin abt it.

SEE THIS IS THE MAIN. MAAIJNN THING I'M FREAKING OUT ABT RN. for all the past roommate mentions and stories he NEVER. EVER. talked abt being "friends" w him. Just. His roommate. Remember that time in 2024 where he justNEEDED to correct a chatter callin his roommate his friend? Like? "no no no, I said roommates. Roommates. Not- not friends." THATS WHAT HE SAID.

And when zam once called him a friend in ep7 of QUAG, likeee few minutes after red finished the satanic story or whatever- red never corrected him BUT HE JUST STAYED SILENT. no noises from him whatsoever.

He NEVER said anything abt "opt in friends" when talkin abt bi roommate.. But when he talked abt his roommates this time and it involved their third roommate, suddenly he had to clarify that.
