DOUBLE CHECKING that all stuffed animals were accounted for at the table for the tea party, Dawn placed her stuffed monkey down before leaning on her poles and humming softly.  Storm was lying beside the pink, plastic chairs, WAITING for any orders.  Though the brunette’s attention was distracted by the fast that one party guest was missing -- her babysitter, Claire.

              SHE REEKED OF WEED, and she was keenly aware of it.  How it seemed to bathe around her at that time, having just had herself a smoke only ten minutes ago.  Nothing had kicked in -- it was either EVERYTHING at once or dry as wine.  This time seemed to be the latter much to the blonde’s frustrations, and now she was left only thinking about how she smelled just then.  As much as she enjoyed being h i g h, she still never quite liked the stench.  So nose was wrinkled and she stopped outside a convenience store, waiting for the right sucker to come along.  The cute, little blonde would have to do.

...It just doesn’t feel right to hide things from her. Before the bite, she was the only girl who never looked at me funny, the only one who saw me as her cousin rather than some epileptic freak. But if I tell her what happened to me, that might actually change. It’s one thing to look past a disease, but what about being an actual mythical monster? 

Besides, wouldn’t I be putting her in more danger? Or is that just another excuse? I’m not going to be able to keep lying every time my wolfy senses tell me something’s going on, or why I want to stay in our dorm alone every time the full moon’s up. What if I slip up? Isn’t she going to hate me even more?
