Newly re-decorated Restaurant Savoy in Helsinki by Ilse Crawford and StudioIlse. Ilse Crawford wanted to honor Aino and Alvar Aalto's original iconic modernist interior design from 1937 by going back to the original color palett and doing as little changes as possible. Well done I have to say. The restaurant was the first place in public to use the Savoy vase (hence the name) and the Golden Bell pendant light, which could be seen here as well. An interesting detail is that the early originals of the Golden Bells were manufactured by Paavo Tynell's company Taito Oy, who also for a short period of time got his own version of the Golden Bell, with only a different kind of perforation. Whether Paavo Tynell was even part of the design process remains unclear but the Tynell versions of the Golden Bell are nowadays extremely rare.
