Uhg... Can I just say a few words about my experience so far with the DMV? Seriously, I just need to replace my Tennessee license now that I’m married with a new Idaho license with my new name on it. Getting an SSN card wasn’t even this hard, but the first visit their systems were down... found out I have to take a written test so this time I wait an hour in the line after reading their pamphlet on all the stuff that could be on the test and find out the fee for the test and card is more expensive than they had previously said and you have to pay cash. Is one of the requirements for a job at the DMV the ability to look at people as if they were complete idiots and born yesterday? It’s not something you want to feel after stressing out in that long line that “if I don’t pass how the heck am I getting home because obviously it’s not by me driving” and you can’t take the driving test again for three days... THREE DAYS if you fail! So I’m standing in line having a mini breakdown as I imagine worse case scenarios because also after you’re married and get your name changed you can only drive with your current lisence unchanged for like... 60 days. How do they even check that if a police officer pulls you over and asks for your lisence. “Oh, I’m sorry ma’am. It’s been over 60 days since you’ve been married and gave up your maiden name. You can’t drive anymore...” ...so are you gonna give me a ride home then ooor... am i leaving the car here and I’m walking? XD haha, but seriously I’ve been driving for SEVEN YEARS and never gotten into a serious accident... except that pole in the parking lot... hahahaha, but that’s another story. Anyways, there’s my rant, I feel less like crying now and much better cause I can laugh at it. Some of these requirements are just silly! And note, despite the speed of he line being extremely slow, none of the people working at the DMV were actually sloths. I think they were all just hit with a slow ray...
