MY POLITICAL VIEWS
Free Expression: My core belief is that people should be allowed to say offensive things, push boundaries, and make dark jokes without institutional interference is a foundational principle of classic liberalism.
Anti-Censorship: Historically, liberalism was entirely about protecting the individual's right to speak freely against the prevailing moral majority, whether that majority was the religious right of the 2000s or the progressive left today.
Personal Accountability: I believe that individuals should decide for themselves what is funny, offensive, or appropriate, rather than having activist groups or corporate HR departments set the rules for everyone.
The Standard: This includes things like severe financial fraud, physical abuse, abuse of power, or deliberate harassment.
The Logic: Outing someone for these actions is seen as a necessary form of public safety and justice, especially when traditional institutions fail to hold them accountable.
Inclusive Language: I believe that using someone's preferred pronouns is a fundamental matter of respect and human dignity. Acknowledging how individuals choose to identify doesn't infringe on freedom; it fosters a culture where everyone feels seen and valued for who they are.
Mutual Respect: My core principle is that a truly free society is built on accepting the diverse choices and identities of others. Having respect for someone’s personal journey—whether it’s their gender identity, lifestyle, or beliefs—is not about policing speech, but about practicing the basic empathy required to live together harmoniously.
Balanced Conception Protection: I believe that abortion should be reserved exclusively for emergency situations, such as cases of rape, incest, or when the birth poses a direct threat to the mother's life or health, rather than being used simply as a method of birth control.
Proactive Healthcare Solutions: My focus is on preventing unwanted pregnancies through systemic improvements, which includes advocating for better healthcare access and widespread availability of reliable birth control options like Plan B.
Healthcare Autonomy: I believe in protecting access to comprehensive gender-affirming care for transgender people and individuals navigating gender dysphoria, ensuring that vital medical decisions remain between patients and their healthcare providers.
Drug Reform: I believe our current legal approach to substance use requires a complete overhaul, specifically lowering the scheduling of substances like psychedelics and cannabis that possess proven medicinal and therapeutic value.
Rehabilitation First: My core view is that alcoholism and drug addiction are medical crises rather than moral failures, meaning individuals struggling with dependency deserve comprehensive, accessible rehabilitation rather than punitive criminal justice measures.
The Strategy: This approach shifts the focus toward fully funded treatment centers and medical research, allowing science and public health to guide policy instead of outdated legal restrictions.
