Jemma nodded. “It is. It almost reminds me of the fancy high tea places my grandmother would take me to every time I finished a degree.”
“Every time? Do you have multiple degrees?”
Jemma blushed prettily. “I have two PhDs, but she started to take me when I got my A levels, so we went more than twice.”
“My uncle tried to take me to the pub for the first time when I got my A levels. That did not go well.”
“Why not?”
“Well, I was way too young and they wouldn’t serve me no matter what he said. So he took me home in a huff and gave me a beer and some whiskey anyways. I was sick as a dog and my head still hurts when I remember how much my mum yelled.”
Jemma laughed and Fitz joined her, glad his story had amused her.
