#level creation

The process we went through today was the following:

Research a real world location (Japan, Berlin, Nepal etc.) 

Find and save at least 50 images on the theme of your choice

Create a “Courtyard” style level for a player to explore, based on the reference images

Capture the “feeling” of the area, key points of interest or architecture, along with colour palettes etc.

Some general Egyptian ruins that I was inspired by.

The main thing I was drawn to, was the block like buildings along with the different height dimensions because of ruined buildings and sand/stairs.

Another thing I wanted to really add was a weenie. With my theme being Egypt, I thought the easiest and most clear thing to guide the player and help with bearings and a sense of direction, was definitely a Pyramid.
