i’m not well versed in one piece as i never was interested in the anime before, but from what ive seen when it comes to fandom behavior (at least for the live action), it’s a breath of fresh air to see fans shipping characters but not being fucking weird about it.

we are aware that the original creator doesn’t want to have his characters have romantic storylines, so it’s really nice to see that the fans seem to respect that, so the shipping of the characters are purely for fun. no one seems entitled or gets angry that a certain couple isn’t becoming canon.
