I’m super excited to share that I’m teaching my first ever advanced lettering course at @bountifuldavisartcenter starting in February! Stumbled upon the first promotional material I created for the lettering seminar, that we host every summer in my studio in Berlin. This year will be the 4th edition and the registration will open very soon. ⠀ ⠀ In case you don’t know about it, every year we host a 3 days seminar. In this sessions, attendees create their own lettering piece form has sketch to final digital artwork. Hands-on sessions are combined with on-site demonstrations, on-spot critiques, short informal lectures and Q&A. I’m there full time to provide technical and theoretical support, as well as answer questions about the letter design practice as well. Since last year, our guest instructor @eliasjprado also takes part, giving extra expert support on everyone’s digital drawing. ⠀ ⠀ Places are limited and, as a wrap up, we host an open studio, where other designers and artists are invited to come. Designing fonts is something I want to continue on doing this year. After releasing Decorata (pictures here 👆🏼) and Ribbons with @positype last year, and creating some curstom fonts for clients too, I have found a new creative outlet for me. This is one of the reasons why, among my usual workshops in lettering, I will be hosting a new display type design program next year, in which other type designers will be instructors as well. While teaching, I’m hoping to learn a whole bunch myself. I’ll be announcing the full schedule of workshops and seminars in Berlin one week.
