At first I wanted to draw Leto with her sacred animals, but at some point I decided to add the baby twins and now I need more baby Artemis and Apollo in my life.
I told you I needed more baby Artemis and Apollo in my life.
Leto gave birth to her twins on Delos beneath a palm tree.
While wandering the Earth looking for a place to give birth Leto was accompanied by wolves and renamed the country of Tremilis to Lycia(present day Anatolia) in honor of the wolves that befriended her. I know she did that in the form of a wolf but I wanted to draw her like this.

Leto and Apollo inspired by this little passage in Apollonius Rhodius’ Argonautica: "‘Be gracious to us, King [Apollon],’ he [Orpheus] sang, ‘and may thy tresses for ever be unshorn, intact for ever! That is their due, the locks that only Leto strokes with her fond hands.’"
Kind of in love with the fact the Orpheus, who’s off on this big adventure with the boys, calls his dad to tell him not to cut his hair and wish him headpats from grandma. That’s such a cute family dynamic, I can’t....
Leto, titan goddess of motherhood, and her twin babies.
