So much is on my mind. I am conflicted. i have spent the better part of 3 years trying to get the one who promised to notice me forever, to see me again. When everything went down, the depression took hold. I can see that now. I lost my value to myself. I stopped trying; virtually giving up; only seeing my own flaws.

I forgot all of the things about me that make me amazing. I didn’t used to wallow in self-pity, or doubt my attractivness (physically and intellectually). I had the perfect amount of self-confidence and humility. 

Recently, while watching my youngest struggle with her own self-identity, i realized that, not only was I doing myself a diservice, I was unconsciously giving the impression that other matter more than anything else; especially self. That isn’t to say that I believe that we should be completely selfish; but it has become very clear that if we don’t value ourselves, we don’t give anyone else reason to value us, and if you wait for validation from others, you may be waiting a long-ass time.
