hiiiiiii rassilon/narvin for the ask game lmao? or romana/narvin if you want something less cracky and/or extremely dark ๐ ๐
I wrote this whole thing and then had to go back and put in the questions so uh here goes
What made you ship it?
it's kinda funny like idk if I'd call Rassilon/Narvin an actual ship that I ship, but it is 100% what I was imagining in the Narvin's personal circle of hell vampire AU. Like it's one sided right? Narvin is so desperate for the ideal gallifrey he longs for to exist and maybe Rassilon their founder their god will bring it back, but it's too late. Narvin already had the wool pulled from his eyes back in season 3 so he can't quite ignore that something isn't right. Rassilon doesn't think about any of them at all. His time lords are tools, extensions of his will (hello Rassilon Imprimatur being a physical part of a time lord's body that allows them to time travel (and kinda sorta baptizes tardises so time travel doesn't literally liquefy non-time lords if they try to fly one? The Two Doctors is a weird episode but I love it because there is a lot of wack lore shit dropped in there with no explanation on the gallifreyan fascism front) and should be (and therefore is in my headcanon) a backdoor into their brains (i mean that's how Pandora's worked isn't it?)) that he largely ignores unless they annoy him so Narvin is left completely rudderless especially after he blames Romana for sending Leela to die with the Master. So the way I end up seeing it is as a priest who's lost his faith, but can't admit it to himself so he keeps praying and praying and praying and maybe fasting and self-flagellation (figuratively, see the humiliation discussion) would help (it doesn't) until he snaps.
In the real timeline he goes back to Romana and she slots in perfectly as his new jesus, returned from the dead and from hell. he gets to continue on as above, but this time as a true believer and damn doesn't that feel good.
Vampire!AU he's stuck and gives in learned helplessness style. Rassilon is the lesser of two evils when compared to the daleks in his mind (barely) so he stays at his post, getting fed on and becoming chronically anemic and depressed because there's no sunlight anymore and he's not really a person because he'd be in the vampire class if he were. they dangle restoring his regenerations in front of him, but he's not sure if it's gift or a threat
2. What are your favorite things about the ship? see above :)
3. unpopular opinion about the ship? It's like 100% nonsexual from Rassilon's end but the whole dynamic has those classic horny horror undertones. so I guess that would be unpopular from the point of view of it being an actual ship?
Romana/Narvin I ship basically for most of the same reasons as above, but instead it's Nice and Good For Him (he doesn't think so but she does and she Knows Better)
