āEscaflowne Bibleā scans [page 15]
The second page of the Q&A part of the promised scan/translation! There are only four pages in total, so Iāll post it page by page. All questions were translated in the end. Iāll still tag those who asked or wanted to be tagged. Thanks @legendofthesevenstars for the proofread, correction, and tips!
Please note: This book was published after the first episode 19 broadcast, so some plot points are intentionally left open. Here we go!
šæ Why are there CDs and why could Amanoās message reach a pager on Gaea? @knighting
In episode 6, Hitomi found a CD fir sale in a market stall. In episode 18, we see some fighter jets suspended up in Zaibach. These are all things that got transported there, like Hitomi. The reverse is also true, with inhabitants and items of Gaea sometimes making it to Earth. So, what about Amanoās pager? We asked the director. āThis world is linked to peopleās pure feelings, so Amanoās strong feelings at that time carried that single message over.ā Gaea is an overly sensitive (?) planet that strongly responds to human feelings

š¤ What are the Ispano clan? Are there any other things that theyāve created? @pikafwance @anonymous
One more half-finished guymelef is seen on the Ispano mothership (episode 14) but the two are the only ones that are going to appear on screen. The trademark of Ispano guymelefs is the pure white fuselage known as the āIspano Whiteā. It looks like itās recognizable immediately on sight. So, what are the Ispano? āIām not sure if they are human, myself. They may as well be androids created by the Atlanteans,ā says the director, avoiding a clear statement. Even so, they seem to be shrewd businessmen, willing to do anything for money. āItās not like that. They only repair guymelefs of their own making. But normally, they are residing in another space-time rift. If you have a homing mechanism like Escaflowneās, thatās fine, but if not, I donāt know how youād summon them. Plus, if there is no motive, they may not be willing to do the repairs.ā So what could be that motive? Maybe something that could affect all of Gaea? Or something elseā¦?

š± How many races similar to Merle, Naria, and Eriya are there?
Itās said that Atlanteans created Beast People as they created Gaea. āThere are many tribes, but they are basically minorities. The humans really have the strongest will to survive. The Beast People, who dislike conflict, are falling prey to them. Thatās why, to avoid contact with humans as much as possible, they live deep in the woodsā. So, Merle may be an exception. Naria and Eriya too, they were rescued by Folken immediately after the death of their parents, and, having the will to fight (lit. looking for a foe), strengthened their combat ability.

šĀ Why was Van able to synchronize with Escaflowne following Hitomiās lecture? @knighting
Through Hitomiās lecture, Van was able to become one with Escaflowne. In episode 18, it is shown that even remote control is possible. Is this something only Van can do? āLike Vanās father or Allen, regular humans would be able to enter the blood contract and operate Escaflowne. But synchronization is something only those who inherit Draconian blood can do.ā So, Folken would identically have the potential to synchronize with Escaflowne. Itās possible that Escaflowne gains the synchronization ability through Draconian blood because it is a guymelef affected by human wishes. Moreover, one theory says that the Atlanteans (the ancestors of Draconians) perished by the use of such weapons operated by wishes.
