Sexuality headcanon: het

Gender headcanon: cis male

A ship I have with said character: allurance is one of my top otps, but I also like plance. And shance ...so I should hc Lance as bi? akasklklklakl who cares

A BROTP I have with said character: Lance and the Voltron team of course, especially Garrison Trio. He’s a great buddy for everyone and I think he’s on very good terms with Ezor

A NOTP I have with said character: klance. I don’t really like lancelot as well (but the ship name is maybe the best lol)

A random headcanon: he can cook pretty well and got even better once he started dating Allura, he had to impress her. Hunk was happy to give him lessons, but Lance knew ever since he was a kid, he loved helping his mom!

General opinion over said character: he’s maybe the funniest of the team, I always laugh a lot at his funny scenes! On a more serious note, Lance had one of the best character developments, I’m super proud of his growth as a man and as a paladin. I really love him now.

Pidge

Sexuality headcanon: somewhere in the aro/ace spectrum

Gender headcanon: nonbinary. uses she/they pronouns

A ship I have with said character: I don’t really ship Pidge with anyone but I find plance, punk and pallura super cute

A BROTP I have with said character: same as Lance, Pidge and Voltron team, especially Hunk and Lance, Matt (I mean they’re even actual siblings). 

A NOTP I have with said character: Pidge/Shiro, age gap really too big

A random headcanon: Pidge is a Potterhead and thinks to fit better as Slytherin but all the online tests she made gave Ravenclaw results, so she wants to have a new Hogwarts house lol

General opinion over said character: one of my Voltron faves since the very start, clever, strong, compassionate, sarcastic...best person. The arc of finding Matt is one of my favourite plots in the show and when they reunited I felt so emotional

Allura

Sexuality headcanon: in human terms, bi/pan (I think aliens don’t actually care about sexualities)

Gender headcanon: same discourse as before, cis female but she’s Altean and can shapeshift into whatever she wants so... human genders are pretty useless

A ship I have with said characters: as written before, allurance. I really love it. Romellura and pallura are other good ships. I liked shallura in s1, but later I started to see it as brotp

A BROTP I have with said characters: again, Allura and team Voltron, Romelle, Keith (I like how they grew into good friends during the show), Shiro. Coran isn’t really BROTP, it’s a second father to her so I don’t put him here. I think Allura also bonds well with Acxa and her sister-in-law Veronica

A NOTP I have with said character: lotura. I really hate it. A lot. More than klance akkjaslkfdklfsadlkf

A random headcanon: Allura curses A LOT (and doesn’t just say quiznack). Since she was little she used to make special bday cards for Coran and never stopped. Another hc I find very good is that Allura, Acxa and Romelle hung out together one night, drinking and yelling against one specific purple prince, a catharsis let’s say. Ever since that day they started going out together, Allura love to drag Romelle and Acxa into elegant clothes shops (when they find clothes too expensive Allura is super happy to buy them for the girls!)

General opinion over said character: my favourite character in Voltron, I can’t put into words how much I love her. Her death made me cry a lot, I was very sad but it was also an emotional and pure moment, like...she’s literally a goddess. Anw in my post-canon headcanon she comes back (which is kinda implied in the show already, so I just go on from there).

Azula

Sexuality headcanon: disaster bi. Or lesbian who still doesn’t know she is lesbian...anw sapphic

Gender headcanon: cis female

A ship I have with said character: I think she had a crush on Ty Lee...they’d be a nice couple, after Azula works on her toxic behaviours of course

A BROTP I have with said character: I love her squad, I hope they became REAL friends after she healed. Same thing with Zuko

A NOTP I have with said character: dunno, Zuko? Sokka?

A random headcanon: when they were little, Azula secretly loved having Zuko combing her hair. They also used to sneak into the royal kitchens and steal food.

Supplementary canon: 17 - 18 in Seasons 1-6, 18-19 in Seasons 7-8.

Headcanon: I take the birthdays and ages in the Paladin Handbook as if the book were written on January 1st, so Hunk is only three months younger than pre-space whale Keith, and he's closer in age to (psw) Keith than to Lance.

Ethnicity:

Supplementary Canon: Half Samoan, half African-American.

Headcanon: Samoan on his dad's side, African-American on his mom's. Yes, I have his entire family figured out. They were relatively major characters in a fic I was hyperfixated on writing for a few months.

Gender:

Sure!

Which is to say, I've entertained pretty much every gender headcanon there is for Hunk except cis girl.

Bi/Pan (I go back and forth on which label I use for him, but the sentiment remains the same – all genders)

Most of the time I headcanon him as someone who, well, doesn't necessarily actively identify as arospec, but acknowledges that he has NO idea how to differentiate between romantic and platonic attraction. He just? loves people? Once the other person is like "this is what our relationship is" it's a lot easier for him to then develop his feelings along the appropriate track, but like, for example, if Pidge, his best friend who he has a 100% platonic relationship with and has never wanted anything different from, was suddenly like "hey, i wanna date you!" he probably would be like "yeah, okay, sure, we can try that!" (he might be confused because Pidge hasn't historically been romantically attracted to people. But if he was convinced she was serious). And that's not because he's secretly harboring romantic feelings for her, he's just sort of down for developing romantic feelings for any of his most special people at a moment's notice – OR for nurturing a hearty platonic love that can never be broken.

I have written him as more alloromantic, though – but he always values his friendships as much as his romances.

I've seen headcanons that Keith can't digest vegetables because of his Galra heritage. I'm not sure if I hold that headcanon 100%, because he is still half-human, but I definitely agree that Galra are carnivores (look at the teeth) and Keith is probably malnourished. Even his human parent is big and buff and Keith... is not. If he'd been raised by his dad throughout his childhood maybe he would have grown up beefier and taller (since I'm sure his dad probably at least somewhat understood the Galra diet from having lived with Krolia), buuut his dad died when Keith was prepubescent and then he was in the foster system and... yeah he probably wasn't getting the optimized diet for his particular interspecies genetic makeup.

I like to think that he grew up with a couple of Very Strange Health Conditions that turned out to just be Galra things, like UV vision and two sets of baby teeth and ridges of bone protruding from.his scalp like Acxa has (hello, big poofy bangs to hide that).

Also, any time he had to do a blood test or a urine test at the doctor's it just... did not provide anything resembling useful information.

Doctor: I... don't know what I'm looking at here exactly but we've run the test multiple times and this seems to be your actual blood? How do you have this much iron in your blood?? Maybe eat... less meat?

Hunk, looking at the same results years later, having adjusted for Galra heritage: Keith, you're anemic.

Keith: are you KIDDING me

Like most real life interspecies hybrids, I think Keith is probably incapable of natural reproduction.

(If you want my specific headcanons about Who "people" are, it's Allura and Hunk – his hella strong but also kinda messy emotional connection with Allura, where he's just like "I know this is different from every other bond in my life but Please do not ask me to explain idk the Fuck is going on," and the fact that every time Hunk grabs him or picks him up or otherwise manhandles him his brain just shuts down like "oh this is good please continue to make hold" when it SHOULD be going into fight mode the way it would for anyone else)

Headcanon A:  realistic

A bit fanciful, but I think it has decent grounding: the drawings in the end credits are all drawings made by Callum - either during the show or afterwards, when he learns more about everyone else’s adventures.

Evidence: They’re all in the same style as the ones in his sketch book, and some of them even appear in the sketchbook.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

Rayla is super into anime and Callum draws anime fanart for her.

Yes I’m borrowing from my real world high school AU but you know what, I’m gonna say show-verse also. Realism who.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

Harrow spent all of that time distancing himself from Callum so Callum would be able to grieve and mourn his “real” father properly, but Callum doesn’t even remember his birth father. Harrow’s the only father Callum has ever known.

Harrow and Callum’s entire relationship was basically familial mutual pining - each loving the other as a son/father but never taking that final step to admitting it because they thought it wasn’t their place.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

He’s half-Jewish! I know the show has never talked about religion, and if it did, the religions probably wouldn’t be a one-for-one parallel to any real-world religion but…

Look, I love this show for so many reasons, but one thing that irks me a bit is that they took the very Jewish hamantash cookie and completely culture-stripped it into “jelly tarts.” Anyway, you bet your socks I’m going to claim SOMEONE in the family that loves hamantaschen so much as Jewish in retaliation. I think either Sarai or Callum’s first father were Jewish, and Sarai went to a lot of Purim celebrations and got absolutely hooked.

(That could be an and/or, with Callum being Jewish on both sides, but I’m also half-Jewish and projecting)

I guess I would have liked to have seen Callum actually verbally apologize to Rayla for the whole “telling Amaya she’s a monster” thing? He shows his good will towards her in his actions, and, uh, you know, she’s clearly moved past it, but I got kind of hung up on that the first time I watched, and it took a bit for Callum to earn back my good will.

OH wAIT YOU KNOW WHAT I REALLY WISH WAS IN THE SHOW???

Callum using sign language when he talks to Amaya. He clearly KNOWS sign language, and as far as I know, even for people who are good at lip reading, it’s HARD and requires a lot of focus, and like why wouldn’t you make it easier for her??? literally w h at reason does he have not to sign?

And for that matter, why is Gren not interpreting other people’s spoken words to Amaya? Again, lip reading is not an exact science! Interpretation is a two way street!

… I think this show suffers from not realizing that there’s no such thing as completely reliable lip reading.
