Stay With Me - Demon Leo Au - Chapter 28
Good evening! I hope all of you are well and happy! I have a bit of an update for you! Lots of things in this chapter! Let me know what you think and enjoy!
😈😈😈😈😈😈😈
"Step aside, demon. We will rid you of the witch that has threatened the forest and the village."
------------------------
"The what?" You tried to peek around Leo but he kept you firmly behind him. You were only able to see through the space between his body and arm. There were mostly men from the village but a few women had joined the group.
Leo snapped the arrow in half like in one hand it was a toothpick. Black smoke swirled around him and his hair was wild. He was livid. You didn't need to see his face, you knew what it looked like. The evidence was on the now frightened villagers.
"Who wants to explain why you are trying to kill my woman?" His voice was full of quiet rage. You knew he was trying to hold himself together so he wouldn't create a massacre.
"The woman you have sheltered has been making threats upon the village!"
"She has cursed our livestock and our crops have died out almost overnight!
"She said the forest was next and she planned to burn it all!"
Several villagers spoke up at once. They started murmuring amongst themselves until they were shushed by someone in the back.
"My good townspeople, allow me to explain to the demon." Norman stepped through the crowd and Leo tensed.
"You have guts stepping foot into my forest."
"I don't b-believe you have a deed for this area of land." Norman stood with his arms at his sides and his hands were clenched into fists.
"Do I need one?"
"You--! Nevermind, that is a matter for another day. Yesterday morning, this little--!"
"Careful….you are in my domain." Leo warned Norman and the man visually paled.
"This….girl...ahem...came into the village and threatened everyone in exchange for money! When we refused, our crops began withering and the livestock began to get sick. She said the forest was next and that she would burn everything to the ground!" Norman's face was beet red by the time he had finished explaining.
"I did no such thing!" You yelled in frustration as you came from around Leo.
"Are you calling me a liar, you witch?!" Norman started to come forward but wisps of black smoke curled around his ankles, cementing him to the ground. Norman's face was as good as a tomato when he turned to Leo.
"Why are you protecting the one you told us to kill?!"
"And when did I demand her death?" Leo crossed his arms over his chest and let out a short laugh. His patience was wearing thin.
"This morning! You came into the village and offered a large sum to rid the forest of the witch!"
"Would you like to try and take her away from me? I feel the need to bloody something." Leo's smoke turned thicker and you could see his claws extend.
"I saw you this morning! I know you were there! Stand back, this witch needs to die!"
Norman pointed at you and raised his rifle to prepare to shoot.
Leo advanced on him quickly, placing one hand on the rifle and the other around Norman's neck.
"The only place I've been lately is to the Underworld. Would you like to go there? I'm sure my brother will welcome you with open arms."
As you were watching Leo with Norman, you failed to notice one of the other villagers sneaking up behind you at the same time. You screamed as an arm wrapped around your neck from behind and their other hand raised a knife. You grabbed the man's wrist to keep him from bringing the knife down into your chest.
Leo noticed and tossed Norman like a ragdoll into the unsuspecting crowd. Then he turned and advanced on the man holding you.
"It would be wise for you to release her. I hadn't planned on killing anyone today but I am awfully hungry and I've got plenty of time. So unless you want to die a slow and painful death, I suggest you let her go. NOW!" Leo's shout caused the man to falter. He released you as if you were burning hot.
Unfortunately, as he released you, the knife he had been holding sliced against your neck leaving a thin line of blood seeping from the cut. You covered it immediately and turned to the man. He looked to be about the same age as you. He kept looking at the knife and then at you. His face paled and he began muttering softly "sorry" over and over again.
That's when you realized something was off.
The man's face no longer held the rage it did before. Looking over at the crowd, they also seemed to be frozen in fear. They all had eyes on Leo, wondering what he would do. They almost looked confused about the whole situation.
Leo was at your side in an instant, covering your neck with his hand. The cut healed quickly but you held his hand against you even after it was back to normal.
"I'll kill them all."
"Wait."
"They'll try again, Y/N."
"No, look at them. They look so confused. Almost like they don't know why they're here. Do you think someone forced them? Is it possible to take over someone's mind?"
"Does it matter? They tried to kill you." He looked over at the crowd and spoke in a louder tone. "They deserve death for trying to harm you."
The group was visibly frozen and you couldn't help but feel that killing them would solve nothing.
"I don't think they intended for things to happen this way."
"I don't feel like letting them live." Leo looked over the crowd but you knew he wouldn't do anything if there was a possibility that they had been sent here unwillingly.
"Then go after the one who made them that way."
"I know who did it." Leo walked a few steps towards the crowd and you tensed along with the villagers. "Go home and never step foot in my forest again."
Fearful mutterings of "yes", "how did we get here", and "I thought we were dead" filled the crowd as they quickly dispersed. Norman was unconscious and had to be carried out by a few villagers. The man who had held the knife to your throat walked by and apologized again before scurrying off.
Leo turned back to you but his face was cast in shadows. You walked over to him and wrapped your arms around his waist.
"Was it your mother?"
"Yes. I'm sorry, my love."
"It's not your fault." You looked up at him and smiled. "Can she really impersonate people?"
"Only people she has touched before. My five brothers and I all inherited different traits from our parents. Four of us, Ravi, Hakyeon, Ken, and I received most of the same powers my father had. Hongbin and Hyuk received more from my mother. Impersonation, brainwashing, and even hallucinations are all included in their abilities."
You thought for a moment and then remembered your dream.
"Leo, do you think she can do the same thing with dreams?"
"Yes…..I know she can."
"Is that what you thought all along?"
"I suspected but was hoping she hadn't. What happened in the village solidified my suspicions. She's aiming to get rid of you but I'll be damned if I let her." Leo leaned down to kiss you. He pulled you closer and wrapped a hand around the back of your neck.
*Hang on tight.*
He was still kissing you when you heard his wings unfurl from his back. Soon after, you were both in the air. Leo's kiss swallowed the short scream that came from your lungs. Your arms wrapped around his neck in a tight hold. His arms went around your back and under your legs.
You pulled away from his lips and took a deep breath.
"Where are we going?! Why can't we teleport?"
"I want to take a look in the village and I can't hide us with a cloaking spell as quickly if we teleport in."
"Cloaking spell? Oh! Like the one you used when I first met you?"
"Yes, that's the one. I want to see for myself what my mother has done." Leo' wings flew quickly and before you knew it, he was descending upon the highest point in the village. Which happened to be the belfry of the church. As soon as he landed, the familiar shimmer of the spell surrounded you both. You smile as you thought about when you’d first met him. You had never been anywhere near the church as you were alway working for your parents and unable to attend.
"Are...you allowed to be near a church?" You almost laughed when a thought crossed your mind of him dancing around because his feet were burning due to the sanctity of the church.
"I'm not evil, Y/N. And I'm not the devil himself." He smirked and folded his wings.
"So...Ravi couldn't?"
"Ravi isn't the devil either. We're all just demons."
"But, he rules the underworld."
"A job he rightfully applied for and received. He wasn't born into it. Of course, he's been the ruler down there for so long, most people don't even remember that."
“I can’t imagine Ravi applying for a job.” You giggled and Leo sent you a playful glare.
"Come on, let's take a closer look." Leo curled his arm around your waist and jumped down from the belfry. You covered your mouth with your hands to keep you from screaming.
Once you reached the ground, you turned to Leo and glared. His only response was to lean forward and plant a short kiss on your lips. You vowed to get revenge later.
"Just stay behind the shimmer." You nodded at his instructions and grabbed his hand. You both walked towards the town square, mud and stone crunching under your feet. You tried to step quietly but there was no way to mask the sound.
"They won't be able to hear you or see you, remember? Just walk and talk comfortably."
The closer you got to the town square the more you could hear the townspeople talking amongst each other.
“What are we going to do? The crops were almost ready to harvest.”
“I was going to milk the cows this afternoon but it’s like their udders are all dried up.”
“Papa, why can’t we get the apples from the orchard? Mama promised to make us an apple pie.”
Your heart broke for the people around you. You turned to Leo and tugged on his arm. He, too, had been looking around the people.
“Leo?”
“Hmm?”
“Are you able to do anything for them?”
“Well….I’m not sure. I don’t really have any incentive now do I?” He smiled at you but you knew what he was hinting at. He was a powerful demon with a one-track mind.
“I'm sure we could find some kind of incentive for you….back home…..in a certain bedroom." You blushed and smiled.
Leo pretended to contemplate the offer and then snapped his fingers. He nodded and then grabbed your hand.
"Done."
You felt a new type of giddiness knowing that Leo was willing to help the people in the village. You were sure he would have done it regardless but he never missed a chance to flirt. He was so unlike his parents and you were thankful for that.
You walked for a bit in the town to make sure there was no other damage. The sign post in the town square somehow still had the wanted poster looking for the she-demon who sent her wolves after the hunters. You almost laughed.
"I can't believe this is still here."
Leo read the notice and then chuckled.
"Hmm….we should be mindful in the forest, then. That she-demon might pop out at any moment and attack." Leo snapped his fingers and the poster was instantly in his hands. "I'm going to keep this as a reminder to be careful."
You simply rolled your eyes at his antics.
"Papa! Papa!" A little girl came running into the square holding the biggest carrot you had ever seen. She looked around and spotted the person she was looking for. It was the man who had been so depressed earlier about his crops.
"Sweetheart," the man hurried the little girl who held up the carrot proudly, "where did you get that?"
"Everything is back, Papa! All our crops got back! I was running around the field and I seen this bit of orange in the ground and so I looked at it and it was a carrot! I had to ask Mama to pull it out cause I wasn't big enough. Mama said all the crops was big. She says you should come home so she sent me."
The man stared in disbelief for a moment and then picked his little girl up and swung her around. She squealed with excitement as her father ran down the street with her in his arms.
You turned to Leo almost in tears. Even Leo was smiling at the little girl.
You then heard the people around the square talking excitedly amongst themselves.
"What do you think happened?"
"Do you think our crops came back too? I should check!"
"I wonder if it's just crops…..perhaps the livestock is okay now."
Suddenly, all the people who had been so dispirited quickly and hopefully ran out of the square. Leo had to grab you quickly and teleport to the top of the church before you both got trampled.
You turned to Leo and placed a kiss on his cheek. He turned his head and smiled.
"Happy?"
"Very much so. Thank you, Leo."
"I should have known you'd help those humans." You looked around Leo and saw a woman standing there. She was elegantly tall. Her long legs were surrounded by a nearly sheer shirt and only covered the important areas. Beautiful long hair the color of the moon cascaded down her back. Her arms were crossed over her more-than-adequate chest. She looked at you and then focused on the feather you wore in your hair. After she realized what it was, she leveled you with a glare that would have caused you to hide in a corner if Leo wasn't holding you.
"What are you doing here, Cresenda? Shouldn't you be at home taking care of that child you keep trying to convince everyone is mine?"

After leaving your daughter at the daycare you rush to work. Well, you wish you could rush there, but the traffic jam barely lets you get through. You slam your hand on the steering wheel in impatience when your car moves as much as five centimeters in line, you lean your elbow on the door and supporting your head in your hand you don’t mind messing up your hair a little.
“Just my luck”, you groan when your phone rings and your Captain’s ID as ‘White Shark’ pops up, “Yes, captain!”
“Where the fuck are you?” You press your lips, closing your eyes at his hurried words laced in rage.
“I’m stuck in traffic, but I’m almost--”, he cuts you then
“Don’t give me that crap”, he threatens, sounding rather breathless. You can hear the hurried steps over the phone as well as the sirens in the background, “This traffic jam is about twenty minutes from the station!”

Writing Challenge: Day 4
prompt: fireworks
4th of July was a typical American holiday but it was full of joy and wonder. The fireworks lighting up the night sky, where you get eaten by mosquitoes and will probably witness a drunken fight. One of the most cheesy things to do is confess to someone as the fireworks light up the sky.
Today was 4th of July and I had managed to rope my friend and crush Leo into going with me to see the fireworks. Of course the other 5 had to come along because I’m friends with them as well. We all spent the daytime hanging out, walking around looking at random things. The fireworks didn’t normally start until 9 o’clock so we decided to part for the next few hours and then they would pick me up again. Inside I wanted to plan my outfit because I wanted to do the cheesy thing of confess to Leo and wanted to look nice when I did it. I needed to pick something comfortable, warm, and cute. I went through my closet, trying to pair a bunch of clothes together but nothing look right. Finally, I found a cute maroon sweater shoved in the back of my closet so I decided to pair it with some dark jeans and black boots. Looking ready enough I got something to drink and turned on the tv to pass the time but I ended up browsing Tumblr and lost track of time. I only realized when my phone chimed with a message
‘We’re outside!’ Ken sent the message so I turned the tv off and locked my front door and made it outside. There were two cars and I went to the one less filled and guess what..those trolls made it so that I had to sit with Leo in the back. He didn’t seem too happy about that since Ken was sitting peacefully in the front with N driving. I muttered a small hello, nervousness taking over me as I tried to sit as close to the door as possible. Then I realized that it probably seemed rude and I sighed inwardly. Before I was able to put my seat belt on N pulled out and took a sharp turn so that I fell sideways..directly onto Leo’s lap.
“Sorry!” I squeak out and sit up so I can put my seat belt on. I glared at N in the mirror and he just looked back at me innocently. Ken was laughing loudly so I whacked him on the shoulder followed by Leo trying to get up and fake strangle N. The rest of the drive was pretty normal and we managed to make it at a good time, there were a lot of people but it wasn’t overcrowded. N found a decent spot and pulled in, the others following closely in another spot. We all got out and I greeted the others. The trunk was open so I went to grab the chair I always sit in when Leo grabbed it first along with his
“I’ll carry it” he says and I nod with a small blush. I could carry my own things but I’m not complaining. Ken bumps my shoulder with his and I playfully hit him, everyone else knew about my crush because Ken has a blabber mouth and told everyone the day he found out. Well except for Leo of course..or so I hope...
‘Oh no..does he already know?! What if he rejects me then??’ I think frantically and let out a small whine with my head down. Hongbin rubs my shoulder and we head off to find a spot. We ended up hitting the jackpot and got the best view, right out in the open with no trees in the way. Our setup was a bit weird because instead of sitting next to the others Leo set our chairs a bit behind them and pretty close together. I tried to keep my cool and sat down, letting the noise of other people take over. By now my mind was racing with so many thoughts of being rejected and a sick feeling made its way into my stomach
“Are you okay? You look a bit pale” Leo asks quietly and I nod my head weakly
“I’m fine” I respond and fiddle with my hands. Ken saves the day by turning around and dragging us into a conversation they were having about how big the fireworks would be. It lasted until there was an announcement that the fireworks would begin in a few minutes. As it got darker the wind began to pick up and I cursed at myself for not bringing a coat with me but I should be okay for now. Everyone grew silent as the announcement for the fireworks came on and the show began. It started out small and I sank into my chair so I could get a better view. It was always awe inducing how there were so many kinds of fireworks, my mouth was open and my eyes focused on the colors in the sky. I guess in all of my awe I forgot that the cold was picking up and a jacket was being tossed onto my lap. I tore my gaze away and looked at Leo who was watching the fireworks, I smile to myself and wrap the jacket over my shoulders and then go back to watching the fireworks. Once again I wasn’t paying attention and barely noticed when Leo scooted his chair closer to mine. I could tell that the finale was coming up because they started to burn of the same ones all at the same time. It slowly picked up and then it happened, they lit the giant ones on fire and the finale began. I felt a tap on my shoulder and forced myself to look away from the sky but I was met by Leo’s face really close to mine
“I like you” he states and my mind goes blank.
Was this really happening?
So I did the only rational thing I could think of
“I like you too” I blurted as the last firework went off. Everyone cheered and the rustling of chairs started as people began to pack up. Leo gave me one of his rare smiles and stood up so I followed. He folded his chair up and I folded mine up so he carried both on his left shoulder and held a hand out to me. I blushed heavily but took his hand and the others cheered
“Pay up” N demanded, holding his hand out. Ken and Ravi both gave N money
‘They made a bet?’ I thought and laughed out loud. We all went back to the cars, following the herds of people while making random conversations. Leo and I stayed back a bit and he asked
“How long?” so I gave him a weird look until I realized what he meant
“It’s been quite a while honestly, I just never knew how to tell you” I reply and glance at him from the side. He was looking at me completely and nodded in agreement
“I’ve liked you for a while as well but you always shied away from me so I wasn’t sure” he confessed and I groaned to which he responded with a chuckle. We finally make it to the car and then have to wait even longer to get an opportunity to pull out. I started to yawn and decided to test my luck by laying my head on Leo’s shoulder and he put an arm around me and I beamed at the back of the driver’s seat. Ken took a picture of us and sent it to everyone but I was too tired to stop him and Leo couldn’t move because I was on his side.
It was a pretty good day..hooray for cheesy firework confessions
-Ro. As always I hope you enjoy and I know it’s a cheesy story but I love being cheesy so it works out :p
Stay With Me - Demon Leo AU - Chapter 25
Long time no see!!!!!!! I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday (or just a wonderful few week if you don't celebrate anything). I can't believe I actually finished a chapter of something! My crazy days of Christmas greeting card merchandising (aka the best job ever) is over for now. Back to 3-4 days a week instead of the 6 days a week. My brother came home from the hospital (gallstones and heart issues), my car is fixed, and my family and I are in good health(knock on wood). I really hope that everyone is having better days lately. Try to find the good in every day!
I hope you enjoy the chapter and let me know what you think! I love hearing what you thought and your theories of what is going to happen!
😈😈😈😈😈😈
"I think we have a lot to talk about." Leo tensed and you raised your hands to his face now and curled them around his cheeks.
"Were you planning on telling me about your apparent girlfriend who is still pining away for you in some far off land?"
---------------------------
"I.....to be completely honest, I haven't even given her a thought in such a long time, I pretty much forgot about her. This I can promise along with the fact that the child is in no way mine. We weren't even that close. She had followed me around since we were younger and my mother adored her, of course, but she's quite a nuisance." The look on Leo's face told you that he was telling the truth and was hoping you wouldn't take the words of his mother over his.
"Don't worry, I don't believe what your mother said. I am certain that you would have told me if there was such a situation."
He smiled at you and you couldn't help but think of what a tiny Leo would look like running around. Could demons have children with humans? You had an immortal soul now so would that help? Did you even want a child?
"--thinking about......y/n....y/n?" Suddenly, Leo's hands were in your field of vision, waving back and forth to get your attention.
"What? Oh.....I'm sorry....did you say something?"
"You zoned out. What were you thinking about? Don't worry too much, we can do it."
"D-Do.....it?"
"Of course we can! There is no reason why we can't. We might have to get a little help from my brothers, though."
"Your brothers?! Why on earth would they need to help?!!"
"Well, I'm strong but all of us together would be even better, don't you think? Of course, we'd probably argue over which position everyone wanted."
"POSITION?!"
"Why are you yelling? You act like we've never done this before."
"Certainly not with your brothers!!"
"What do you mean? We've had Ken's help before and Ravi too."
"Wait, wait, wait. Are we talking about the same thing here?"
"What else would we be talking about?"
"Children!"
"Children?! What do children have to do with fighting my mother?"
"Because....! Wait.....fighting with your mother?" A bright red hue covered your face as you realized that he had been talking about his mother and that was definitely far from your own thoughts.
"Yes.....what were YOU thinking about?"
"No.....nothing....my mind wandered....." You turned and headed towards the kitchen but was stopped by Leo's arm around your waist from behind.
"Tell me, my love." His lips touched your neck and goosebumps appeared on your arm as his fingers trailed upwards.
He tilted your chin back to rest against his chest and then he moved his hand to your forehead. Almost instantly, your vision blurred and all you could feel were lips trailing along your skin.
Not a few seconds later, his lips on your neck turned to a smile. He hummed against your skin and you breathed deeply. He removed his hand but kept his position behind you.
"Of course it is possible, love. Just say the word."
"I hate it when you do that."
"No, you don't." He chuckled close to your ear and you made a small noise in agreement. He knew you all too well. He knew you liked the feeling caused by his mind rummaging through yours. It was hard to explain but it felt almost intimate. Like he was able to know you inside and out.
"You know me too well."
"It’s true that I know every single inch of you." He emphasized his point as black smoke circled around your legs and thighs. "But....I'd like to know more of what's going on in that beautiful head of yours. I would rather you tell me instead of me reading your mind."
"But your method is far less embarrassing." You laughed as you turned in his arms. "But I understand what you're saying. I'll try."
"Hm, good. For now, let's just rest. We've had far too much noise for one day and I would very much like to spend the remainder of the day with you in my arms." He raised his hand to touch your nose like he had done countless times so you wouldn't have to change clothes but you stopped him.
"If you don't mind, I would really like to soak in a tub of hot water instead. I know your way is easier but I feel like I want to relax." He smiled down at you and in an instant, you were standing in your bathroom.
"Of course I wouldn't mind. You know you can do whatever you like here." He released you and snapped his fingers bringing to life a full tub of steamy water, complete with bubbles.
"That looks lovely. I won't take long."
"Take as long as you want. If the water gets cold, just let me know."
"Thank you, Leo."
"Anytime, my love." Leo left the room and you settled down into your bath. The hot water did wonders for your aches, inside and out.
It had been ages since you had just relaxed like this. So many things had happened in such a short time you doubted whether you could ever relax again.
However, all too quickly, the bubbles dissipated and the water turned lukewarm. Regardless, you didn't want to move. Your eyes were just as heavy as your body felt.
You closed your eyes for a moment before hearing Leo call your name.
"Hmm?"
"You've been in there for a while now. Do you want me to help?" You heard his voice outside the door and wondered why he just didn't pop in like usual. But, you were too sleepy to care.
"No, it's alright. I'm getting out." You rose and stepped out of the tub and looked around for a towel. You smiled to yourself thinking about how dependent you had become on Leo's abilities. You thought that maybe you should try to do more things on your own.
Finally drying off and getting dressed proved too much for you and now you really wanted to sleep. Opening the bathroom door, you jumped when you saw Leo still standing there.
"Leo! You startled me. Why didn't you just come in?"
"It wouldn't have been appropriate, of course."
You laughed at Leo's joke as he followed you to his room.
“Are you not going to sleep in your room?” You stopped and looked at him as if he had grown a second head.
“Did….did you want me to?”
“Well, I figured with everything that had happened, we needed to think about a few things.”
“Are you...is everything ok?”
"Yes, it's fine. I just did some thinking while you were in the bath. I think it would be best if we kept our distance from each other while my mother is here." Your heart dropped standing there in the hallway listening to Leo's words.
"Oh...well, if you want that. Um...I'll just go back to my room then." You stepped around Leo and went to your door, trying to keep the tears at bay.
Once you turned the doorknob, your room vanished. There was nothing there. The door had opened to the darkness outside. You actually had to catch yourself so you wouldn't fall to the ground below. You turned back to Leo.
"Ah, I removed the room for a while. Like I said, I did some thinking and I don't want to fight with my Mother. After all, my father is dead and two of my brothers are gone as well. Not to mention, Hakyeon is stuck in hell with no soul. So I think if I try very hard not to anger her then we can try to talk to each other. Of course, that would mean you would need to be away for a while." He started walking down the steps so you followed him. He didn't stop until he reached the front door. He opened it and then turned to you.
"I….um….I understand that you would want to be on good terms with your mother but I'm just not sure where I could stay." You started to walk out the door, assuming he would mention that there was another house he'd created in the woods for you to stay in.
"With your parents, of course. I'm sure they wouldn't mind taking you back in for a few days."
You stopped walking immediately. Every inch of your skin crawled with warning signs.
"My parents?"
"Yes! You've been away from them for far too long. Don't you think they miss you?"
Your eyebrows bunched together and you crossed your arms over your chest.
"Well….they might. Oh, before I go, do you think I could get that clock set that my grandmother gave me. You know I don't like to go far without it."
"I don't see why not. Where is it? I'll get it for you."
"It's in your room, next to that statue you keep of the three animals beside your bed." Leo nodded and sighed.
"Alright, just stay here. I'll bring it back down." Leo walked into the house and you immediately ran.
You didn't know who that was, but it wasn't Leo. You needed a place to hide to think things through and the only place you could think of was Gomi's cave. At least you would have shelter.
You just had to reach the cave…….
But that was an hour ago and you still hadn't found it. You were fairly certain that you had gone the right way. But you couldn't even hear the loud waterfall that covered Gomi's cave.
