Iâm finally done with  this. Itâs really long, almost 2500 words, and I shouldâve been studying, but I really needed to write this, so here it goes. Itâs a little different from the others, but I hope you guys like it =D
âSo, as many of you already know, during the next couple lessons weâll be talking about soulmates. This is a really important subject we need to touch now, because youâre reaching the age when 90% of the people start having their dream. Itâs extremely rare for people to have their dreams before or after the ages 20 to 25, though there are cases, but theyâre not widely common.â
She inwardly snorted. The teacher took a moment to fix his tie, the studentâs attention solely on him.
âThe notion is very simple, exactly one year after you get the first dream, youâll meet your soulmate. For that entire year, the dream will repeat itself every single time you fall asleep, itâs inevitable, so donât try to fight it. You can go talk with the counsellor or even get a therapist if the dream gets too hard for you to handle, so please, if you donât think you can get by on your own, reach out for help, youâre not alone, we all go through this at one point in our life, and itâs better to talk about it than to suck it up.â
The bell rung.
âWeâll be talking about the history of soulmates and the process of dreams in more depth next class, youâre all free to go.â
She hugged the book closer to her body, walking through the university hallways with practised ease, having already spent two years there.
She slowly made her way to the bus stop, sitting on the little bench to wait for her bus to arrive. Her mobile started ringing, and she fished it out of her bag, instantly smiling the second she saw the familiar name in the caller ID. She answered.
âHi love, where are you right now?â The deep voice made her shiver.
âI just got out of my last class for the day, Iâm waiting for the bus to go back home. You?â
âIâm picking you up so we can go home together, Iâm done for the day. Look up.â
She did exactly that and, indeed, she saw the familiar tall figure on the other side of the street.
She smiled, instantly ending the call, and looking both sides before crossing the street and launching into his open arms, him easily hugging her body and picking her up until she was a good 20 centimetres away from the floor.
âIâve missed you so much.â She whispered in his ear, feeling him smile into her shoulder. âNow that Iâve grown used to always having you around, I never want to go another full month without seeing you, itâs too long.â
âI agree, next time Iâm taking you with me.â He let her go and set her back on the pavement, taking his scarf off and wrapping it around her neck, making it cover the entire lower half of her face. âYour nose is freezing, letâs go home.â
She smiled, taking the hand he was offering her without any doubt.
âââââââââââââ
She had just turned 4 the night she had her first dream. Her parents always said it took hours to calm her down whenever she woke up from the dreams, she kept crying and crying, and she only calmed down when she tired herself enough to fall asleep again. She didnât remember a thing, just a flash of a distinctive bright green colour, and that was it.
And one year later, that exact day, a tall, dark haired boy had helped her up in the park when she had fallen from the swing, fixing her hair and giving her a hug. She had seen a flash of white as her skin touched the boyâs. They broke the hug to see their mothers gaping at them, having seen all of the signs.
âIâm Choi Seunghyun. Iâm ten, and Iâm your soulmate.â
He was eleven years old when the two of them found each other. He did remember every single detail of his dreams, but never told her a thing about them, pretending they had never happened. Or that he simply didnât remember them at all.
The two of them met every single day at the park, sometimes they played, sometimes they talked, most of the time they just lied down on the grass and tried to find figures in the cloud, making up stories about princesses that slayed dragons and princes locked up in castles, because he said that princesses werenât the only ones that needed saving.
He took care of her, never letting her fall or get bullied, making sure she were happy and entertained, always with a loving smile and tender words, even if she  was too young to understand what soulmates were, more than the fact that she felt really happy and safe when she was with him.
She always asked him why he still hanged out with her, she had heard the boys in his class call him lame for spending so much time with a girl six years younger than him. He just told her he liked her a lot, and he loved to spend time with her most favourite person in the entire world. He never mentioned the bullying, or the way his weight started to climb from eating his concerns away. He only wanted her to be as happy as she deserved to be, without any worries.
Then, suddenly, when she was 10, her dad died. She could remember his arm surrounding her small body as she cried at the burial, her mum speaking to friends and family.
Her mum, devastated and alone with a ten year old daughter in a foreign country, decided to move back to her home country, and she had to go with her.
There were a lot of tears, from both of them went they were told. Â Seunghyun was about to lose the think that made him happiest, and she was about to be away from the only person she had constantly had right next to her every day for most of her life. It wasnât fair.
But, fair or not, it happened. They had a tearstained goodbye in the airport, and her and her mum almost missed their flight because they were unable to stop hugging and crying.
The next few years went by with big telephone bills for their parents, since they talked at least once every couple of days, trying to feel the other closer to them.
She struggled learning the new language, complaining about how everything was weird, the traditions and culture where different, the food was not as tasty, and she missed his comforting presence next to her.
He started to dedicate most of his time to his music, becoming a somewhat important underground rapper. People were still bullying him for his size, but since now he was cooler, the bullying wasnât so bad.
And then, his old middle school friend Jinyoung contacted him, talking about being an idol trainee, and debuting, and fame.
Seunghyun told her about it, and she encouraged him to do it, saying she could hear it in his voice how much he wanted to do it, and that she was going to be there for him every step of the way, even if she couldnât be there with him.
They saw each other face to face for the first time in eight years in a practice room in the YG building. Seunghyun, now known as T.O.P. By the entire world had already established as one of the biggest Kpop Idols, having debuted with Big Bang and gotten famous and well loved by fans during those years.
Her mum had kept her promise: the second she was done with secondary school, she had booked her the plane tickets for her to go back to Seoul. Â And that night, as soon as Seunghyunâs Skype changed from red to green, she called him. He could see the excitement in her face, and that made him smile.
âIâm going to Korea!â She said as soon as he said hello, making him smile in joy.
They had been counting the days since that Skype call, finishing details and smiling at the otherâs happiness.
His manager had picked her up from the airport, because as much as heâd wanted to put up a fight and pick her up himself, he knew that wouldnât be sensible, and driven her to the building, taking her to the room where the group members where rehearsing for their comeback.
T.O.P. had turned around the second he heard the door open, and the both stood there gobsmacked, staring at each other for a several seconds, before reacting and running for the other, meeting in the middle, his arms enveloping her, and her face smashed against the fabric of his shirt. The other members had whistled, and everyone had left the practise room laughing to let them be.
T.O.P. broke the hug first, really taking the way she looked in.
âYouâve grown up so much!â He said with a smile, reaching to push her hair away from her face, caressing her cheek. âBut youâre still as tall as when you were 10.â She punched his arm and he laughed.
âAnd youâre so tall! And skinny!â She saw something peeking out from under his beanie, and jumped up to rip it off. âYour hair is blue!â She exclaimed, dropping the beanie to the ground.
âYou donât like it?â He run his fingers through his hair, self-consciously. Â She shook her head.
âI love it, it suits you.â They both smiled at each other, and the next second, his lips where on top of hers, kissing her with all the pent up love and passion heâd been saving for her and only her.
âIâm so in love with you.â She whispered, her eyes still closed. âI think Iâve loved you for a long time now, but I didnât know exactly what it was.â
âI love you too.â T.O.P. said, pecking her forehead. âIâve been in love with you ever since you were 5 and you fell from that swing.â
âââââââââ
They were laying together on the couch, some movie neither of them was watching playing on the background, both too occupied with each other to pay attention to it.
He was playing with her hair, twisting it and the letting it go, before doing it all over again, and she was playing with the fingers of his free hand, both of them staring into each otherâs eyes, talking without saying a word. It always drove everybody crazy, how the two could have full conversations without letting out a sound, so in tune with each other one look was all it took to convey a message.
âWeâre planning a comeback for next month.â His voice broke the comfortable silence. âJinyoung has some really cool stuff for this record, and I canât wait for you to hear it.â
âI trust his musical genius.â She smiled, and he leaned down to kiss her softly. Â âI canât say the same about wardrobe, though, it always looks like the stylist was smoking something before deciding your outfits.â He snorted.
âAre you still waiting?â His voice sounded, and she turned around to see his tall figure standing by the door, removing his shoes.
âYour hair is green!â She exclaimed, sitting up and instantly running to him, making him lean down so she could run her fingers through it, making him shiver from the feeling. âItâs still as soft as ever.â He kissed her lips.
âOf course it is, you wonât let me not take care of it.â She rolled her eyes, hugging him.
âWant to go out for dinner?â She nodded, and instantly run to change.
Walking hand in hand on the street was a second nature to them now, after so many years together. They were softly talking about their days, when suddenly, someone jumped in front of them, gun in hand, and T.O.P. instantly hid her smaller body behind his.
There were no words said, no explanations given. One second they were laughing happily and, the next, he was falling to the ground, his attacker running away swiftly.
She gasped in shock, and instantly cradled his body between her arms.
âSeunghyun Oppa! Oppa!â She cried, trying to put pressure onto the gaping hole in his stomach, blood staining her hands. She could hear people around screaming for help, one person calling for an ambulance. âPlease, Oppa, please, hold on, please, I love you!â
He coughed, some blood dribbling through his parted lips.
âLove, love, please.â He grabbed her hands as tightly as he could. âDonât do it. Please donât do it. I know itâll be hard, but you canât do it, okay?â He was gasping for air. âPromise me. Promise me youâll try, promise. I love youâ
She let go of his hand to run her fingers through his hair, cupping his face and kissing him with all the love she had. And when she let go of his face suddenly the paramedics where loading him onto a gurney and yelling at each other, one of them guiding her into the ambulance.
Once in the hospital, she run next to the gurney as far as the let her before stopping her, and she took a last look at him before falling to the floor in shock.
Thatâs when it hit her. Bright red blood, on his bright pale skin, and his bright green hair.
She knew he was gone.
For the second time in fifteen years, she was in a funeral, arms holding her body against another warm one. Seunghyun was holding her tightly as she cried, patting her back and trying to comfort her as best as he could. But it wasnât enough, not this time.
Because the arms were not the right ones, and his height wasnât right. And it wasnât her Seunghyun, not this time.
âSeungri, we need to get going to the press conference.â Daesung told the maknae, who let go of the hug, rubbing her arm up and down.
This time, her Seunghyun, the light that shone brightly on her life, the stable figure that had always been there for her was laying on a wooden coffin. He would never be there to hug here close, to play with her hair. He would never be there to pick her up and spin her around. He wouldnât be there to get married to her, they would never have children. He wouldnât be there to grow old with her. He would never be there to kiss her every day, and hug her every night, and tell her he loved her every single moment.
Because he was gone.
She tried, she really tried to live her life.
Seunghyun had left everything he owned to her, so she had enough money to live comfortably without working for the rest of her life, if she wanted, but still she kept her job as a library assistant, working quietly every morning, going home, and then going to classes every afternoon.
She finished her last two years in university, graduating as top of her class, and getting showered with job offers.
She went to visit his grave every single weekend, leaving trinkets for him every single time.
She really did try to live her life.
She tried so hard.
But one day, she got tired of trying, and understood his words.
âI know itâll be hard, but you canât do it, okay?â
She bit her lower lip, hugging herself tightly, her body wrapped in one of his old jumpers.
âI tried. I really tried.â She whispered, taking a step forward.
And then she flew.
ââââââââââ
âNo one really knows how it came to be, what caused the genetic modification that started the dreams. The only thing we know is, about 100 years ago, people started to see their soulmates in their dreams, and one year later, they met them. Some people say itâs cruel, some say itâs not fair.â The professor stopped once again to sigh.
âBut some time in your lives, youâll all have a dream where youâll live your soulmateâs death. Â And that death canât be cheated, even though many people have tried. Nature normally makes the dreams occur when youâre this age so youâll remember them, just imagine meeting your soulmate when youâre really young, but then having to live your entire life not knowing your soulmateâs fate, just because you were too young to remember it.â
What am I even doing? I have two midterms and eight essays to do, but here I am, writing this =/ More to come (TOP and V, when I have the time to write them) This is not proofread, btw.
When he was young, heâd never really understood what the clock was all about.
âWhen you get older, youâll understandâ His mother had told him.
âBut I donât see the use of having a clock that doesnât tell you the timeâ Heâd stubbornly said.
âIt tells you something even more precious, it tells you the amount of time left until you meet that one person that was made just for you, that one person thatâs yours and only yours. Just wait a couple of years and youâll see that it gets easier to understand.â
He looked at his motherâs clock, the white zeros a promise of what was to come, a promise of happiness in the future. He looked at his own black numbers.
Kyuhyun still thought heâd never understand.
ââââââââââ-
She buried her face in the pillow as soon as she had crawled onto the bed, biting her lip to stop the tears from falling.
That day sheâd seen two soulmates find each other for the first time ever, both clocks dinging the second their eyes met. The boy had been in her class since kindergarten, and his soulmate was a transfer student from another city that had started school that very day. Theyâd hugged instantly, and sheâd been able to catch a glimpse of their white numbers.
She looked at her wrist, black numbers mocking her: It read 25 years.
She spent more time that sheâd like to admit thinking about her soulmate. Would they be a boy or a girl? Who tall would they be? Would they have short or long hair? Would they like music and have no problem with her playing the violin at really early hours in the morning?
Sheâd see the girls in her class show each other their timers and giggle, going on and on about how awesome meeting their soulmate, and sheâd keep her wrist covered at all times, too embarrassed to let the other see it and know she was a freak.
She couldnât understand what the point of having a soulmate was, if sheâd meet them when she was over 30 years old.
âââââââââââ-
âGood job, guys, the choreography looks really nice and clean. Kyuhyun, you look incredibly awkward when you dance, please practice your faces in front of a mirror for the next couple of days, okay?â
âYes, teacher. Thank you!â Everybody answered, and Donghae dropped to the ground, plopping his head onto Eunhyukâs lap.
âIâm dying, Hyukie. I canât feel my legs.â He whined, to everyoneâs amusement.
âYouâre being a drama queen, Hae.â
âAm not. Iâm just extremely tired and canât wait to go to sleep. Besides, weâve been up sinceâŠ.â
âOW!â
The loud, pained sound made everybody turn around, and see Kyuhyun on the floor, on his knees, holding his wrist tightly to his body, eyes closed in agony. Leeteuk quickly run to his side.
âWhat is it Kyuhyun? Whatâs wrong?â
âThe clock.â Kyuhyun muttered between clenched teeth. âItâs shifting, It hurts so much!â Teardrops started making their way down his cheeks. Leeteuk grabbed his body, forcing him to lean onto his chest as he tried to stop him from injuring himself.
After about ten minutes, the pain stopped as abruptly as it had arrived. Everyone was looking at them intently. Kyuhyun let his eyes wander to his wrist, his face falling immediately, and he started sobbing as Leeteuk hugged him.
âI donât understand, hyung! Why!?? Why me? I donât get it! Why?â
It took about half an hour for Leeteuk to calm Kyuhyun enough for him to stop crying and fall asleep. And only when Leeteuk signalled it was okay, the other members started to move.
Siwon instantly walked to them and covered Kyuhyunâs sleeping form with his jacket, softly carding his fingers through his hair.
âWhat happened?â Ryeowook asked. âIs it⊠red?â Everyone tensed. The clock only went red when the personâs soulmate had died. Leeteuk shook his head and everyone relaxed a little bit.
âIt went up by ten years.â Leeteuk whispered, and the rest of the members looked at Kyuhyunâs relaxed face, pity showing on their features.
âââââââ
She looked around the airport, taking everything in. She couldnât believe she was actually doing this. She mustâve been out of her mind. Sudden, strong arms hugging her made her panic for a second, but she relaxed as soon as she saw a face she recognised from pictures.
âYouâre so much taller in real life!â The woman hugging her exclaimed. No, she wasnât. She was only 1.60 meters tall. âAnd so much skinnier! You look just like your grandma!â
She smiled softly as the woman let her go, instantly bowing to them.
âHello Uncle and Auntie, please take care of me.â Her words sounded slightly accented and awkward, not having spoken the language since her grandmother passed away ten years ago.
âOh, weâre so happy youâre here! Letâs go home so you can some sleep, you look really tiredâ Her uncle took her bags and they started walking.
The apartment was really nice, spacious, bright and homey. She removed her shoes and followed her aunt.
âThis is the living room, and thatâs the kitchen. Our bedroom is that way, and here is your bedroom, you have your own bathroom, so you can be comfortable. Min Ah doesnât come home very often⊠or at all, really, so we redecorated it for you, I hope you like it! Iâll leave you alone so you can shower and start unpacking, Iâll call you in a couple of hours for dinner.â
Her aunt closed the door, leaving her alone.
The room looked really nice. A single bed against the wall, a sofa underneath the window, which had a wonderful view of the Han River and the park. There was a desk for her to study at and a closet for her clothes. The bedding and the curtains were pink, but the walls had been left bare for her to decorate. She sighed, opening her biggest suitcase and taking out a picture, setting it onto the desk.
Coming here for university was the right choice, she tried to convince herself. Getting in touch with her grandmaâs culture was a good thing. She sighed, getting her toiletries and going to take a shower, quickly drying her body, and changing into comfortable clothes. She was brushing her hair when a quick pain on her wrist made her drop the brush. She looked at it and smiled at the change.
5 years, 147 days.
ââââââââââââ
Kyuhyun stared at his clock, thinking that maybe, now he understood his friends when they had counted the hours until they met their soulmates. He only had 3 years until heâd meet his soulmate, 2 of them he would spend in military service, and he was getting more and more nervous. He closed his eyes and rested his head against the window, listening to the others bickering in the van, making their way home from a music show.
Out of nowhere, the van began to swerve, and suddenly, he blacked out.
When he came back to consciousness, he was laying on the side of the rode. His entire body ached and there was something wrong with his breathing. He tried to turn his head, but couldnât move at all.
âOh god, please let everyone be okay.â He felt the burning pain in his wrist. âI hope theyâll be okay. Iâm so sorry I wonât be able to meet them.â He could hear Eunhyuk screaming in the distance, but he was too far gone to stay awake.
âââââââââââââ
She suddenly woke up to a sharp pain in her wrist. She knew this pain, this had happened once before, almost ten years ago. She bit her lip and instantly turned on the light, clutching at her arm, and staring at it in horror.
All she could read were red 0s.
How? How could that be? Just a couple of hours ago it red three years, two months and seven days. Something had gone horribly wrong.
Then, the numbers went back to black, and started climbing up.
1 day, 2 days, three days.
Red.
Again, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
Red.
10, 15, 21-
0.
ââCâmon!â She yelled at it, desperately. Every time the clock went back to zero she felt a pain in her chest. She saw it climb up to 30 before going back to zero. âDon't you dare die, you idiot!â She was crying, and could hear her aunt asking if she was alright, but couldnât pay attention to anything else.
The numbers started climbing again, going past 30, and settled in 93 days. She still couldnât relax, she had seen it drop so many times that night, and she wouldnât be okay for a while.
She finally allowed herself to relax when she woke up the next morning and the clock still read 93 days. The rush of relief and happiness she felt was like nothing sheâd ever felt before.
ââââââââââââ
âYou know what the doctor said, Kyuhyun, you canât be so active. Your lungs arenât going to be fully functioning until your ribs are healed.â Heechul scolded Kyuhyun as he walked around the dorm slowly.
âBut Iâm okay, hyung, itâs not like the last time.â Everyone in the room went serious. âArgh, really, Iâm okay, itâs just a couple broken ribs, Iâve had worst and Iâm still alive.â
Eunhyuk helped him back to the couch, messing up his hair.
âYou scared me so much, you brat, I canât believe you flew out of the car again.â Eunhyuk muttered, and Kyuhyun rolled his eyes.
âIâm fine, really! Now câmon, sit here and eat you fried chicken, hyungs, Iâve been locked up in the hospital for three months I need some relax.â
ââââââââââââ-
âAuntie, did you get a package for me?â She asked, leaning her body over the kitchen counter to steal a piece of kimbap. Her aunt slapped her hand away, but she still popped it into her mouth.
âNo, I didnât.â The phone rung, and her aunt turned around to answer, as she sneaked another piece of kimbap into her mouth. âThe neighbour called. They got your package a couple of hours ago, and he left home but just remembered, he said one of his dongsaengs is home now if you want to pick it up.â
âOh, okay, Iâll be right thereâ
She opened the door, walked a couple of steps, and rang the doorbell. She suddenly remembered she hadnât checked her clock today, and paled as she did so, watching the countdown: 12 seconds, 11 seconds, 10 seconds, 9 secondsâŠ
âHi! Teukie hyung told me someone was coming to pick up a packageâ A thin, tall man stood in front of her, holding her package. She couldnât get any words out. Suddenly, he looked up andâŠ
TING!
Both of them stared at the other in shock, down to their wrist, where their clocks sat, numbers completely white, and back at each other.
Kyuhyun had a huge smile on his face, but he was shocked when she began crying. He pulled her inside the apartment, hugging her closer to his body.
âWhatâs wrong? What is it?â He urged her, caressing her back to make her calm down.
âYou died twice about ten years ago! And seven times a couple of months ago! Do you know how scared I was!? The clock went red too many times, and I couldnât help you, I couldnât do anything! I was so afraid I would lose you before I even met you!!â She fisted his shirt, trying to take everything in.
âIâm here, Iâm right here now.â He guided them both to the couch, hugging her frame as tightly as he could without making his ribs ache. âIâm not going anywhere. Iâm sorry. Iâm right hereâ
And when his hyungs found them hours later, still hugging and in the same position, he gave them a glare with so many promises of death, wrath and pain if they interrupted, that they all scattered as quickly as they could.
Hiiiiiii How would Xiumin, Taemin, Kevin and Sunggyu react to you having an anaphylactic shock I'm allergic to peanuts and get them quite often :(
I understand your feelings so well, anon, Iâm really allergic to several spices (curry is a big nono for me, sadly, and Iâll never be able to see if Cinnamon rolls live up to ther hype) and carry an epipen on my at all times, so I feel so, anon!
I think Kevin would be all over the place while trying to help you, and after you both locate your epipen and the attack is over, heâd be fussing over you for hours, maybe even days, asking if youâre feeling okay, if you need anything, making sure you rest and avoid anything that could give you another shock.
Sunggyu, I feel heâd get stunned by the shock, and react after youâd injected the adrenaline. But, oh boy, when heâs sure youâre doing okay, heâd be nagging at you for days, why didnât you check what you were eating, why didnât you tell him your allergy was this bad, why are you still here and not in bed yet, thereâd be no way of stopping him.
Taemin would be in panic, not knowing what to do, how to help, or even who to call, but once the attack passes, I think heâd be extremely frustrated with himself, beating himself up for not being helpful, for panicking and being a mess when you most needed him.
Xiumin, on the other hand, I see as a quick thinker, making decisions with a cold mind, keeping his face straight, locating your epipen and injecting you instantly, helping you calm down by keeping calm, and taking really good care of you afterwards.
This ended up being almost seven pages long, it definitely spiraled out of my control and decided how it wanted to write itself, lol. But here it is, and Iâve added a little bonus scene that I thought really tied up the plot, so I hope you like it!! (And now Admin Narwhal is going to bed because her fractured-should-be-in-a-brace-but-Iâm-not-wearing-it-because-fuck-the-rules elbow is killing her and itâs already 4:30 in the morning over here.)
It started the second the clock turned 6:18 PM the day of your 21th birthday. All of your friends were really excited about it, saying it was a pivotal moment in life, the moment when you first heard your soulmateâs voice. Since you were the youngest in your friend group, you had heard lots of times how wonderful listening to your soulmates voice inside your head was, how beautiful their voices were, or in some cases, even how badly out of tune they were. See, the catch to the whole thing was that the only moment you could listen to your soulmateâs voice was when the sung out loud. Everyone started listening to their soulmateâs voices when they turned 21, except for the people with soulmates younger than they were, who had to wait for their soulmate to turn 21 as well before being able to hear their voice.

You gasped out loud as you heard the loud voice echoing inside your head, and half the class turned around to see what had happened. You blushed and looked downwards, trying to focus back on your notes, but you knew it was futile.
âSo, what were they singing? Is it a boy or a girl?â Your best friend asked excitedly once you exited the classroom.
âI donât knowâ you half sobbed, hiding your pout behind your hands as you dropped your head down.
âWhat do you mean you donât know?â
âI couldnât understand a word he was saying, it wasnât any language I knew!â
âSo itâs a boy! Oh, how wonderful. Was he on pitch? My soulmate sounds like heâs murdering kittens every time he opens his mouth. Last night he sung the Macarena for half an hour straight, I was starting to go insane!â
âMarie, focus! Didnât you listened to what I just said?? Heâs not from here? Or any country that speaks a language I understand!!â You pouted even more, tears gathering in your eyes. âWhat am I going to do? How am I supposed to find him?!â
âYou need to keep an ear open, and try to get at least a few sounds to google and discover which language it is!â Marie answered, and got up from her seat. âIâm going home, see you later! Bye!â You half-heartedly waved her goodbye and started walking back home.
------------------------------------
âLetâs seeâ You wrote the couple words you were able to identify in the Google search bar and clicked search, pushed your chair back a little bit, closed your eyes and leaned your head back.
Your soulmate was still singing the exact same song. Well, not exactly singing, it was more like a pseudo sing, pseudo rap kind of thing that, you had to admit sounded really well, except for the fact that it was three in the morning and all you wanted to do was go to sleep because you had a class in six hours, and he was still singing the same song over and over again, sometimes switching to other songs but always coming back to that one.
You opened your eyes and looked at the desktop screen. âKorean language: how toâ, âBe fluent in Korean in 6 monthsâ âwhat does haruman mean in Korean?â
âMy soulmate is Korean?â you stared at the screen in disbelief. âOh god, why do this kind of things always happen to me? Why couldnât he be British, or Spanish, so at least we could understand each other?â You moaned and knocked your forehead against your desk. âWell, I guess Iâll have to learn Koreanâ
--------------------------------------
The story of my life
I take her home
I drive all night
To keep her warm
And time is frozen
Suga groaned in frustration tugging his own hair.
âI guess you donât like your soulmateâs song choice, huh hyung?â Jimin stared at him from where he was sitting in the waiting room.
âSheâs been singing the same One Direction song for the last two hours. Itâs driving me mad, Iâve already memorised the lyricsâ
The rest of the boys snickered.
âWell, my soulmateâs been singing War of Hormone for days now, I guess she figured out my voice.â Jin said smiling. âSheâs a terrible singer, though. Canât stay in tune to save her own life.â
âAt least she doesnât sing at four in the morning. What is she even doing up at four in the morning?â Suga whined and closed his eyes to try and get some sleep.
-------------------------------
âThatâs it for todayâs lesson. Remember you need to turn in your papers on the importance of politics in business next Friday!â Your professor said as you started gathering your stuff.
âThank you professor Park, see you next week!â You smiled, bowing from your waist as you left the auditorium.
After two years of studying you finally had enough comprehension of the Korean language to be extremely fluent in it, and if your lack of knowledge about some cultural things, or some slang words or phrases used by people your age, hadnât given you away, most people wouldâve thought you had been speaking Korean since you were a little child.
âHEY!! Are you ready for tonightâ Ji Eun asked. She was your roommate, who had been on an exchange in your class during high school. You two had instantly clicked, and you didnât hesitate to contact her when your transfer became official, and sheâd instantly said you two could rent an apartment and move in together. Youâd been living in Seoul for a week, so thisâd be the first real outing youâd have with her.
âWhat are we doing, again?â You shook your head as you tried to concentrate, which was proving to be difficult since your soulmate was rapping in the background in your mind.
âIâm going to use you.â You stared at her in disbelief and worry, and she laughed. âItâs nothing bad or illegal, you idiot. Today one of my favourite groups is making their comeback, and YOU are going to pull the foreigner card and get us inside that filming studio.â
You werenât actually sure how that was going to work for both of you, but didnât protest as she dragged you towards the nearest underground station.
---------------------------------------
âMy soulmateâs been humming Hate by 4Minute the entire afternoonâ Rap Monster said with a fond smile. âI guess thatâs her response to our practise schedule.â
âMineâs been unusually quiet this last couple of days.â Suga muttered, worry visible on his face.
âShe must be really busy, donât worry. Itâs the start of the school year, everyone is still getting used to classes and stuff.â J-hope assured him, fixing his mic.
âBangtan, youâre on in 5 minutesâ a stage manager poked his head through the door, and everyone acknowledge him instantly, standing up and walking towards the door.
----------------------------------------
âOh my god, I canât believe it actually worked.â Ji Eun whispered in your ear, shaking from excitement.
âI canât believe you made me act like I didnât understand a thing they were saying.â You answered with another whisper.
Ji Eunâs group was performing live on air, so you two were waiting for them to appear.
âWhatâs the groupâs name again?â You asked.
âBangtan Sonyeondanâ She whispered back. âYou are going to love them.â
Then, in a flurry of quick moves, seven boys stood on the dark stage as they got ready to perform.  The song started slow, and then picked up the beat. It actually sounded really good, and you were following the rhythm with your head when suddenlyâŠ
Today the moon shines brighter
On the blank spot in my memories
It swallowed me, this lunatic,
Please save me tonight
(Please save me tonight,
Please save me tonight)
Within this childish madness
You will save me tonight
You gasped, your mouth falling open as the voice you had been listening inside your head for two years started to sound through the speakers. You instantly found the person singing with your eyes, and your mouth dropped a little more, his greyish hair and stylish clothes, and his beautiful smile making you lose focus.
The song they were singing ended and a new one began, and you gaped as he moved his body through the choreography. He was insanely good, maybe not as fluid and ethereal as the black haired short guy or the tall one with dark hair that looked like he had escaped kindergarten, but he oozed charisma and confidence.
As soon as it ended, you lost track of time, there was a ceremony of some kind and a guy with brown hair and a really pretty voice sang again while celebrating, and then it was over.
And somehow, when you next tuned in, you were home.
âWhat is wrong with you? Â Are you okay?â Ji Eun asked. You nodded and stood up.
âIâm going to the park for a little bit.â Your apartment, courtesy of Ji Eunâs dad that had gotten it from a close friend, was located really close to a little park you had discovered during your second day in Seoul.
âOkay, but make sure you take your mobile, and call me if you need anything! Iâll be going out with my boyfriend so donât wait too long for me.â
----------------------------------------
Suga sighed as he walked back to the dorm from the convenience store, staring at the pavement, and worrying about his soulmate.
Here comes the sun, duh duh duh duh
Here comes the sun, and I say, itâs alright Â
He smiled widely as he heard the words in his head. He had been missing that voice the last several days.
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
He stared in surprise when he realised he could faintly hear her voice, that voice heâd been trying to find the last two years.
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right
He turned around and saw the source of the voice, a girl that looked younger than him, sitting on the park bench, hugging her knees to her chest as she softly finished her song.
âYour voice sounds even more beautiful in real lifeâ
----------------------------------------
You jumped up, startled by the sudden appearance of an unknown voice, and your eyes widened as you saw the grey haired guy from that group standing in front of you, a black plastic bag in his grasp.
âYou!â You jumped up and run to him, pulling him into a hug as he dropped the bag to hug you closer, the impact almost making both of you fall. You sighed in happiness, but then remembered something, and pulled away from the hug. âYou are famous, I almost died of the shock when I heard your voice in my head at the same time as it came from the speakersâ
âYou watch my stage on T.V?â He asked, surprised, but never taking his eyes away from your face. You shook your head.
âI was in the studio. My roommate dragged me, your group is her favourite, apparently.â You rolled your eyes and he chuckled. âAnd on second thoughtâŠâ You started hitting him softly with your closed fists and he let go of you to protect himself. âRehearsing the entire day and being a music artist? Do you know how many exams I was scared shitless I was going to flunk because of you keeping me up until 6AM with your rapping? And now you donât even tell me your name, just start talking as if weâd met beforeâ You huffed, and he laughed.
âIâve known you for two years, thoughâ You melted inside from his words, but rolled your eyes on the outside. âOkay, okay. Hi, Iâm Min Yoongi, Iâm 23 years old, and Iâm in a boy group called Bangtan Sonyeondan where I rap and produce songs. And my stage name is Sugaâ He added as an afterthought.
âHi Yoongi. Iâve been looking for you forever.â
âMin Yoongi, since you obviously let them in because youâre the only other person besides my roommate and her boyfriend that knows the door code, care to tell me why there are 6 boys in my living room eating the cheesecake I made for my roommateâs birthday party?â You raised your eyebrow as Suga scratched his neck sheepishly.
âThey wanted to meet you, and we were on our way home from the last schedule of the day, so I thought we could pop by and surprise you?â He said, a sweet âplease-donât-kill-me-smileâ on his face, and you rolled your eyes, hugging him.
âOkay, youâre forgiven. But youâll need to get me a new cheesecake for Ji Eunâ He laughed at your statement.
âIâm sure Jin hyung will be glad to help.â
------------------------------------------
âIâm home!!â Ji Eun yelled, removing her shoes and fixing them by the door, when she noted seven pairs of shoes. Seven pairs of male shoes. Seven par of male shoes that werenât there eight hours ago. âWhy are there a bunch of shoes in ourâŠâ She stopped abruptly when she reached the kitchen and found her roommate and all of the members of her favourite group sitting around the table, eating cheesecake. â⊠Entrance. Whatâs going on?? I thought you said it was an emergency, and I find you eating cake with BTS in our kitchen. Why is BTS even in our kitchen? Did I eat too much spice and Iâm seeing things now?â
âYoongi is my soulmate.â You simply stated.
âIâm going to kill you.â She glared at you. âAlso, J-hope, I love you!â J-hopeâs eyes widened, and stared at you in fright. You quickly stood up and walked to Ji Eun.
âDeep breaths. Itâs okay, theyâre people just like you and me only a bit messier and a whole lot taller, okay?â She nodded. âOkay, sit down and have a piece of cheesecake.â You patted her shoulder and sat on Sugaâs lap to make room for her. âAnd donât touch anyone. Or bite anyone.â Suga motioned towards J-hope who was still frozen in place and you nodded. âEspecially J-hope.â
âNot even a little bit?â Ji Eun pouted, and Suga and you rolled your eyes, as the rest of the guys laughed.

This is an incredibly lame oneshot, but yeah, Itâs two AM over here, and Iâm procrastinating by writing instead of paying atention to  the pile of antropology notes I should be reading. Let me know if you like it and Iâll do another one! DISCLAIMER: Since this has not been proof read and my brain is currently fried, there might be mistakes. Sorry âbout that. (Heechul is getting the first one because heâs Heechul and I love him, Nuff said.)
You stared at your face in the mirror, trying to will the big cut on your cheek, right under your eye to disappear. You pouted and sighed for the tenth time in ten minutes. You were going to have to go to school looking like that, since you couldnât use makeup to cover it, it was far too big and puffy to hide it.
âStupid soulmate, what did you do to injure yourself like this?â you muttered under your breathe. You wouldnât be able to get an answer any time soon, but you hoped he was okay.
Heechul was laying down on a couch backstage when the rest of them poured in.
âAre you okay, hyung? What happened?â Siwon asked, instantly going to him.
âLedboardhurtlikeabitch.â Heechul said, trying not to move his face too much, since that only made the cut hurt worse. Siwon looked to the manager to try and get an answer.
âSomeone threw a LED board at Heechulâs face. Luckily, it hit right under his eye. It couldâve been really bad if it hit two centimetres up.â The manager explained, and Heechul pointed a finger in his direction, as if to say that was it.
âMâsoulmateâs going to hate meâ He breathed out, and Kyuhyun snorted.
âShe already went through a fractured leg and a metal rod, hyung, this is a walk in the park for herâ
Heechul rolled his eyes, and moaned out loud when it made his cheek throb.
âââââââ
He instantly knew something wasnât right the second he woke up gasping for air. Leeteuk instantly woke up as well, hearing the pained scream Heechul emitted, and flew to his side.
âWhat is it, Chul, whatâs wrong?â He asked desperately as he grabbed the phone to call the manager.
âSoulmate, hurtâ Heechul gasped. âCanât breatheâ He grabbed his throat, feeling more and more lightheaded.
He could faintly hear Leeteuk desperately talking to someone on the phone, trying to get help, but the only thing he could do is try to get air into his lungs, not that it was working, and worry about his soulmate. Was she okay? Why couldnât she breathe? Why wasnât anyone helping her breathe?
Multiple hurried steps and loud, frantic voices could be heard, he thought he could recognise Kangin and Kyuhyun, and maybe Yesung, or was that Ryeowook? He couldnât really tell, too far gone, too little oxygen making it to his lungs.
Suddenly, he grasped the right side of his face, still trying to breathe, as a sharp pain erupted all over it. Someone was trying to pry his hands away from his face, and he allowed them to, his strength starting to abandon him.
And then, as abruptly as it had begun, he suddenly could breathe again, and he did so in shaky gasps, trying to breathe in all the oxygen he could, face stinging and lungs burning.
âHeechul! Heechul, are you alright?â When he could finally breathe at a somewhat normal pace, and wasnât feeling as lightheaded as before, he opened his eyes and angled his face a little to the side, finding Leeteukâs worried face staring back, and he could see a teary-eyed Ryeowook standing behind him.
âSoulmate couldnât breathe, somethingâs wrong with her.â He whispered, throat still burning from the effort and the swell that was slowly going away. âMy face hurtsâ
âYou have a really, really big bruise on your cheek.â Kangin said, as he and the manager helped him up, and back in the bed. âItâs getting a really ugly shade of purple, I bet itâs going to hurt like a bitch when you wake up tomorrow.â
âââââ-
You were making your way down the hotel hallway. Your parents had left on an excursion, but you didnât feel like getting stared at because of the huge bruise on the side of your face. You contemplated what to do, not wanting to spend the afternoon locked inside your room, finally deciding to go to the roof.
You sat on the roof for hours, humming a random melody and staring at the clouds as they made their way through the sunny sky, but turned around when you heard the roof door open, jumping a little from the shock.
âSorry, I didnât know there was someone up here alreadyâ a male voice said, and you turned around to find a tall stranger wearing sunglasses and a surgical mask standing there, frozen.
âItâs okay, I should be leaving anywayâ You smiled a little, careful of your bruise, and got up. You were passing next to him when he grabbed your wrist.
âAre you okay now?â He asked.
âIâm sorry, what?â You asked, puzzled.
âYou couldnât breathe last night. Are you okay now?â He said softly, your eyes widening as you suddenly understood, turning to face him, watching as he removed his mask and sunglasses, revealing an extremely handsome face that had a bruise that looked an exact copy of yours.
You stood there frozen as he stepped closer to you, softly grabbing your face.
âYou look beautiful even with that ugly bruise. Are you okay now?â He caressed the skin of your cheek, and your heart jumped.
âYes.â You hesitantly brought a hand to his face and caressed the soft skin as well.
Then he suddenly hugged you, tightly, warmly and lovingly, sighing.
âWhat happened?â He whispered in your ear, his breathe making you tremble.
âAnaphylactic shock. Iâm allergic to cinnamon. Fainted and hit my face on the table. My dad found my epipen and everythingâs okay now.â You simply explained.
âIâm so glad youâre okay. My beautiful soulmate.â
HI GUYS!! Iâm coming out of early retirement (more like stopped paying attention to UNI for a little bit) because today is Super Juniorâs 10th anniversary!! Itâs been ten years since this 13, then 15 wonderful people were formed together into a group, a group that would set the pace to most of the second hallyu wave worldwide, that would make their way into so many different paths, making the SJ name know for their talents in several disciplines, that would make so many people happy with just a song, or a smile.Â
As a fan that has been with them since 8 years ago, all I can say is that Iâm thankful they are here. Iâm thankful Lee Soo Man decided these bunch of rowdy kids needed to be put together into a project group, thankful that they chose to stay and keep training, even if some of them were older that the average debut age, even if most of them had been cut from being in DBSK, Iâm thankful that they didnât give up. Iâm thankful that Kyuhyun was added and they stopped being a project group and became a formal, non rotational group. Iâm thankful we were then given two precious new marshmallows to coo over when Zhou Mi and Henry were added to SJM. Iâm thankful Heechul was okay after his car crash, and extremely thankful Kyuhyun was strong enough to fight back and win, and that none of the other members had any major health problems after their accidents as well. Iâm thankful we still love and support Hangeng even now, and that the members love him and support him as well. Iâm thankful we still have Kibumâs back, even if heâs not longer in the group. Iâm thankful weâve seen the bigger picture and got over conflicts, and rumors and scandals, and became a stronger fandom, and that they became a stronger group.
Iâm thankful my uncle got me that Christmas present in 2007, and that my parents raised me with a big curiosity for new things, because that moment really changed my life.
I know this has been said before, but Iâll say it anyways: Super Junior saved my life, really saved me when I didnât want to go on and didnât know how to either, and I donât know if Iâd be here if I hadnât found them and their music, and their silly antics. Up until last year, no one knew about my love for them. Not my friends, and certaintly not my parents. But then I thought: Why am I hiding the fact that I love Kpop, and that I really enjoy watching a bunch of grown ass men running around stage playing pranks on each other? And Iâve never been more glad, âcause I made new friends, and found a community of people that think and feel the same way I do. So Iâll say this now: Iâve been here for 8 years, seen many many groups debut, rise and be disbanded, I supported everyone when Hangeng left, and when Kibum became inactive. Iâve stayed here for Kangin, Heechul, Leeteuk, Yesung and was so happy when they came back from the military. And Iâll stay here waiting for Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk and Donghae, and now Siwon, until they come back. And Iâll probably cry when Ryeowook and Kyuhyun enlist, because they are the babies, even though they are 7 years older than me, but will be happy when they come back.
I promise to be here for ten more years, and then ten more after that.
TL;DR Happy 10th anniversary, Super Junior. Iâll always be here for you.
Rant over.

BTW, here, have some old school suju. This is the song that started it all for me.
Youâre humming my favourite song as you look in the mirror
Narwhal Blurbs
Prompt: Youâre humming my favourite song as you look in the mirror
Today is the first day youâve been home in the last couple of weeks.Â
Your schedule is all over the place right now, promotions taking you from airport to airport, from presentation to presentation, but never giving you a break.
You look at me and wink. I blush. Iâve missed this, coming over to your house and having you here. Eating together. Seeing your face in real life, not through a screen. Hearing your voice in my ear as you whisper youâve missed me.
You love your job. Youâd never dream of doing something else. And Iâd never dream of asking you to change. Because you might go away from me for months on end, but you always come back to me, to hum my favourite song in the mirror as we wash our teeth side by side. And thatâs all Iâll ever need.
