“I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26) Thanks for walking with me this past 40 days #lent2020 #day40 #40for40 #jesuschrist #prayforus #redux #heisrisen #alleluia #happyeaster #regemregum #catholic #backtothedrawingboard #noshamedance https://www.instagram.com/p/B-2qxs7F0PNBvK4PiDZ5mPYnJNFDFWJZYEc8aQ0/?igshid=159lx4u5ai0r4

This lent let us fast from pride and feast on humility. Fast from gluttony and feast on service to others. Fast from anger and feast on patience. Fast from fear and feast on hope in the Lord.
Lent 2020. During Lent I make small works and leave them for people to find. The idea is to make someone’s day better. Maybe they will take it, or maybe they will leave it for someone else. #sethfittsartist #sethfittsart #sethfitts #lent2020 (at Ear, Nose And Throat Institute) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9rf23mFC3R/?igshid=yhzewsk6z43s

After much self reflection, I've decided to give up this Lent.
Stabat Mater
V. At the Cross her station keeping, R. Stood the mournful Mother weeping, close to Jesus to the last. Hail Mary… Holy Mary, Mother of God…
V. O sweet Mother! fount of love, R. Touch my spirit from above, make my heart with yours accord. Hail Mary… Holy Mary, Mother of God…
V. Let me, to my latest breath, R. In my body bear the death, of that dying Son of yours. Hail Mary… Holy Mary, Mother of God…
V. Christ, when You shall call me hence, R. Be Your Mother my defense, be Your Cross my victory. Hail Mary… Holy Mary, Mother of God…
Let us pray: REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
Joy in suffering!!
It's Lent!!
As Catholics, we are taught that we are given the chance to partake in Christ's resurrection, eternal life. But to do that, we must also partake in His suffering. Huzzah.
Fear not! It is possible!
One thing I noticed about today's society is that no one knows how to suffer. Believe it or not, you can be joyful even through suffering! Suffering is hard, it hurts, and we will have our moments where we cry out in agony to our Lord and Savior, just as He cried out to His Father in the garden. It is only natural, and isn't a sign of weakness.
But back to the topic; how can we have joy through suffering?
The answer is prayer. Go figure, we often think we can "pray it away." Well, it's true! It starts internally. Joy isn't a destination; it is a state of mind. If we pray, and ask God to give us a positive mind, to fill us with love, offer that suffering up, and trust in Him, we can have joy through suffering.
Now, happiness is temporary, joy lasts. You can be joyful, which makes you happy, but there are times when we're hurting and sorrowful. Again, it's only natural.
Suffering is part of life. We're all going to suffer. How we choose to suffer is what matters. Are we going to let it take us down and break us? Or are we going to cry out to Our Lord and depend on Him? Suffering ultimately brings us closer to God, even more so if we depend on Him to get us through it.
