She sat in the mist, soaking her feet in the waters. I watched from a distance as she hummed to herself. Lost in her own thoughts. I wondered about the things running through her mind. What sorts of things could a fairy with wings ponder about so deeply. She could fly away from her thoughts. Leave them floating in the fog. But she sat humming, soaking her leg in the murky water.
The clouds parted ways and allowed the moon to shine down on here. It illuminated a great sadness that I had not notice in the shadows. The moonlight dispersed and danced in her melancholy aura. Oh, little fairy! Fly away from your problems if they pain you. Use your ability and abandon all your troubles. Do not sit in them like we humans do, unable to fly away. Only our hearts seem to flutter and ache when trouble arises. Be better than us. Leave if you must!
She began to kick her feet. And looked up momentarily. Perhaps she heard me grieving for her pain. But then her eyes dropped once more. I didn’t say a thing and listen to her hum. The tune sound familiar, as familiar as my own beating heart.
