The thrust of Auric's hips elicited another breathless moan from the man beneath him. His eyes were shut tight with indulgence, head tilted back against the violet sheets, tangled black hair splayed out like a dark halo. Auric's eyes betrayed his intentions with a lingering gaze on the man's flushed face, taken in a selfish sort of secret. He knew what this was. He knew the expectation they both strictly upheld each time he, time and time again, slid into the Governor's bed. Any small betrayals otherwise, from either man, always passed over and unacknowledged.

This was never love.

Long fingers tangled in Auric's golden hair and pulled his head down to the older man's slim neck. His parted lips dragged soft against hot flesh, tinging his tongue with sweat. Each pass of his lips, dance of his tongue, and graze of his teeth on his neck sped up Lefevre's breathing, inching them closer toward the finale that Auric didn't want to see yet. He felt particularly selfish this night in his pursuit of distraction, and he intended to stay useful until the dawn peeked over the horizon.

Lefevre pulled Auric's lips to his own in a rough kiss. "Your mouth is a respite of heaven in this boorish hell," he moaned against them.

Auric smirked between labored breaths. "Am I an angel, then? Lured helplessly into your den of sin and temptation." He slipped his tongue into Lefevre's mouth, as to punctuate his question.

7- How much time did it take each of them to notice their feelings for the other and how long did it take for them to act on those feelings?

Lefevre’s initial attraction to Auric was sexual, but as he began spending more time with him, he started to develop real feelings… and the less overtly sexual he became toward Auric. He began going to Auric’s book club and actually reading the book. Inviting him to chess without the innuendos. Paying attention in ways he hadn’t before. Less perverted fence line flirting, and more genuine friendship.

Auric, on the other hand, only begins to recognize his own feelings for Lefevre after they sleep together for the first time. There had been something there before, but he never allowed himself to acknowledge it until then. Probably because, you know… he was engaged. 😬😂

47- What are their fights like? How intense is it? How do they go on about apologizing?

Auric and Lefevre’s biggest issue is that they don’t communicate. When the initial bliss of their relationship wears off and real life starts creeping back in, small, everyday pet peeves begin to build until they eventually boil over into a ✨fight✨ And since neither of them knows how to actually talk things through, it usually ends with a bandaid of (really, really hot) make-up sex and love bombing on Lefevre’s part… something that, over time, begins to wear Auric down.
