Northern Lion Panthera leo leo

The nominate subspecies of lion found in West Africa, northern Central Africa and India. Asia's sole lion population lives in and around Gir National Park, India. The West African lion population is geographically isolated and numbered fewer than 250 mature individuals in 2014. This population is listed as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List.

Canada Lynx Lynx canadensis

It ranges across Alaska, Canada and northern areas of the contiguous United States, where it predominantly inhabits dense boreal forests. It is a specialist predator and depends heavily on the snowshoe hare (Lepus americanus) for food. Kittens leave the den after about five weeks and begin hunting at between seven and nine months of age.
