On The Gameoverse Controversy
So recently there has been a controversy surrounding Gameoverse, claiming the fact only Kit and Miss Information wearing swimsuits is misogynistic.
This controversy is extremely forced and only really seems to be coming from full grown adults who want an excuse to hate on the new Glitch show aka Gameoverse.
People are being obtuse and purposefully ignoring the fact their swimsuits are meant to be disguises so they don't stand out in the ocean themed world.
Alongside this is fact the swimsuits are and look practical, as opposed to the impractical fan service swimsuits given to female covers in anime. Aka what people are trying to act like this is, that it is only meant to appeal to the male gaze and weirdos.
Something what was made even less likely given it was apparently a woman who designed these outfits for this episode.
Meanwhile people are ignoring the fact there really wasn't any other human or human adjacent characters in this episode that warranted a swimsuit. Fold for example was literally shapeshifting into different forms that fit with the ocean themed world, and video game rules as a way to remain in disguised.
Meanwhile Learnosaurus is small dinosaur, what can you really do there? Kaboodle is just straight a backpack. And the Floaties are goons, cannon fodder.
Now something that doesn't work as a defense of this episode is some people are trying to say there is fan service for women in this episode. The typical bad argument by pointing to things aren't meant to appeal to women nor typically do, as well as being pretty laughable. The prime examples being Warrick and Flappers simply having muscles being classified as fan service for women....... LIKE NO!!
At most the only one that likely can fall under that category is Kit's boss Dusk.
That being said, something I do hate about this is this nothing burger controversy is mishandling feminist topics, and can be easily used as a means to dismiss any legitimate criticism for actual issues. For example, a lot of anime's problem with writing female characters poorly and constantly sexualizing them for the male gaze.
Overall this controversy is stupid. Written by Eris the Lorekeeper

Gangle often found solace in this creepy rundown place. The Digital Themepark was a spot the other players didn't end up going to that often. There were Caine posters everywhere as well as attractions. Abandoned places like this were something that most would likely find spooky but this place not one such spot for the ribbon girl. She looked at some of the game booths, like the bottle game booth, the fortune teller booth, the hook a bee booth, the dunk tank booth, the corkgun target booth, the ring toss booth, the basket ball booth, the concession stand, the hammer toss booth, and more that Gangle hadn't tried. The place was far bigger than it had any right to be.
Then there were the rides, like the roller coaster, the ferris wheel, the bumper cars, a boat ride, a cinema, an auditorium where the awards took place that one time and last but not least the hall of mirrors. That place was the place Gangle knew the best. Her safe haven as it were. She wasn't going there yet though, she might as well enjoy the games right? Why worry about messing up when no one was watching you? Oh, there were wooden mannequins around too but they didn't talk.
The place she ended up at looked to be one of those claw machines with a bunch of plushies inside. She wasn't that good with them but why not right? Even if she lost things like this were fun right? She pressed the start button becaue Caine didn't use coins so...she could try as many times as she wanted. So with her ribbony hands which couldn't really grip very well she wrapped a ribbon around the stick that moved the claw then began to try out the machine.
It took her about two hundread tries to grab something. She honestly didn't have anything better to do so when she finally got one her eyes lit up it was getting closer and closer until it dropped into the prize chute! She won a plushie! Yay! Gangle loved toys like this. It was only too bad what was about to happen wasn't what she expected.

Unease wasn't exactly difficult to read on the dinosaur- he was practically drowning in it. The papernoid released a breath. If he was uneasy, then he probably recognized Fold- or at least, had heard of him. Who knew, maybe Fold had been responsible for his world's destruction- there were so many, it was all a blur at this point.
"If you're certain, then." Doubtful. Highly, highly doubtful. His gaze flickered to one of the nearby doors, then back. "I could've sworn,...but, when you travel as often as I do- faces do tend to start blurring." Disappearing. Gone in a blast of code, never to be seen again.- Save when Farcade or his own side stepped in to save one or two choice entities... "At any rate, I apologize for interrupting your day."
Could've sworn...
....
..........he recognized that shade of magenta...
@learnosaurus liked for a starter!
"There it is, Gobbles. The Farcade home base!" Kit flew Nimble closer towards the massive spacecraft. Even from a distance, it looked just as big as the Syntax's ship.
She turned to smile at her newest dinosaur companion. "I know it looks a bit intimidating, but I'm sure you'll fit right in! I can't wait to introduce you to the others!"

@learnosaurus
Kit told him he could stay on the ship. The information he had on this world didn't matter if the magenta dinosaur was uncomfortable to set foot here. And yet, despite all the emotions banging against his skull, he was here.
Home.
Gobbles didn't understand the explanation he was given about some game worlds having multiple versions in existence. It was another complicated concept he'll have to grapple with in time. But for right now, he'll try to concentrate on the mission. He was especially tasked with it for one reason: he knew everything about this game world-his game world.
That day was probably burned into his mind for the rest of his life. He remembered every detail perfectly. What he had for breakfast, the answer to every puzzle, the location of every letter, all the paths he took around town. If this world's version of him was anything like he was back then, he had a pretty good idea on the chain events that would occur today.
The only issue for this Gobbles was how recognizable he was. His fellow learnosaurs realizing that there were two Gobbles running around would bring all sorts of problems. So he told Kit and Kaboodle everything he knew, put on a disguise, and stuck to the trees and shades. While his companions come up with a grander plan out there, Gobbles' only task was to buy some with his counterpart.
He wasn't ready to face his old partner. Not see him, not hear him, no...he wouldn't be able to stop himself. All he could do now is meet his other self at one of the only points of the day where he was alone. On one of the old roads by the trees with a lot of shade he wore a big, yellow helmet, a long bandana tied around his face, and a little uniform to look at least somewhat professional while tucking in his blue tie.
"Hold on! You can't pass through here!" He tried to make his voice sound deeper to not give himself away, "You'll have to come back later."

Kaboodle rolled his one eye, not trying to hide it all. "Look, I am gonna need some help, and Kit is out in the game world right now." He extends and points at him with one of his pincer arms. "Just know I normally would never ask you this. This is an emergency though!
The ship needs some repairs. I hope you've been doing some learning watching me and Kit, while not on that Learning Pad, or whatever it's called. He ushers him over to where there are sparks coming out and the wires are unplugged. "It's lucky this time we aren't being attacked to give us some distraction.

"Are you okay hun? You seem lost." It could be easy to get lost in New York when your new to the area. Ellie has lived here all her life, so she knows her way around the city. Well...technically in the countryside outside the city but that was besides the point.
Sure, the tall beauty was on her way to the music store to have her saxophone repaired, but it wasn't like the ginger was in a hurry or anything or had an appointment. It was just a walk in appointment. Whether or not they would be busy today was up in the air.
