We worked on the letter O this week. . We always introduce a letter with these rhyme pages from @angelateachingmama and we love them. This one was clearly a favorite because we got to drive cars on it too 😜 . For yesterday’s trays, we stayed on letters A-C and worked on a few sight words — the zoom ABC set I got includes sight words and I hadn’t been working on them much but realized H was picking them up on his own. So we integrated them a bit more. . Started with a letter C reminder, did a quick C hunt on our bookshelf, then read Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site’s ABCs. . For our trays: 1. Magnet letters with our first 3 words: the, and, big. . 2. Roll the dice for the sight words with some graphing — I’ll share more about this bc it is so much more fun than I would’ve imagined. . 3. Crowns — we decorated crowns with jewels and puff balls. . 4. Some counting and matching — H most liked one where he had to connect shapes w the number of sides they had. And I helped M get started then realized she knows 1, 2, and 3! . 5. More matching - just with letters A, B, and C. Then some sight word tracing. . 6. A good Monday to kick off the week...we started with our morning at “school” then got to zoom with H’s class for an Easter share and an awesome book. And since they filled their rewards cards today, they decided to rent trolls 2 after. Today’s trays: . 1. We used Easter stamps to cover our letters. . 2. Spelled our full names with these paper eggs again. H really worked on Ms name w her and both spelled our last name! . 3. I hung their names down the hallway w the big post it’s and then gave them circle stickers (on the cute clipboards from @ouellette1776 ) to match the letters of their names — Ms were all caps, H had upper and lowercase. I was so proud of how well she did!! She knew each letter without hesitation. . 4. Rhyming puzzles . 5. Lucky ducks . 6. Letter construction board + the game traffic jam . They both worked super hard on these tasks and had lots of fun. I had a somewhat hefty lesson to tackle with my 9th graders, so my husband stepped in for a few minutes to keep the kids on track — I think they really liked having some of the repeated activities so they could show him how it was all done 💗 . Tomorrow, we are trying a going on a bear hunt theme...up to this point, I’ve just been trying to establish routine and survive 🤦🏼‍♀️. Buuut I have so many theme / fun ideas spinning in my head. If you know me, you know I love a good theme.....The problem is that you type one into google or Pinterest and you get this long list of cool stuff you can do...but like will I ever actually get to the point that I can execute all of my ideas for a theme?? So is it better to halfway do it or not at all..? . Well....in my mind, I have 6 trays, a felt board, and a sensory bin idea for tomorrow. In reality, I have prepped a “slimmed down version” of 4 of the trays, but I won’t get to the other stuff. I haven’t been staying up late to prep activities and don’t want to start.
