This is going to be a rather short post because the two large projects I’ve been working on since Midwinter are still ongoing and will both be gifts once they are done. Which means I don’t want to risk sharing work-in-progress pictures where the intended recipients might see them. I finished most of the stuff from my last task list. - My "new" yarn has been put away in the craft room. - Knit blanket is done, just waiting to be given to a certain someone. - The "pussywitch" cross stitch pattern is done, as far as I know. Adding a border or extra motif seems like it'd take away from the text. Revised task list - Continuing the for-sale leaf shawl; already have started the second ball of yarn - Finish the Imaginesque blackwork motif I had started - Decide on a color for the "pussywitch" cross stitch. Four different colors or all four copies in the same color? - Continue the tiny ripple crochet blanket, which is stashed away with my embroidery floss, so I'll work on that while deciding colors.

"Unforgettable" leaf shawl (by Elizabeth Plaid) picture #2 wasn't posted to flickr; picture #3 was So far, the piece is just working a big triangle of the crocheted crocodile stitch. I have no set plans about how this will turn out, but I did buy 4 more balls of this wonderful yarn. (The piece in the photo has used about 1.5 skeins so far.) It's Red Heart's "Boutique Unforgettable" in "echo" - 100% acrylic but it has a wooly texture. A separate post regarding the yarn is forthcoming.
Hallo! I just saw your very awesome leaf shawl in the crocodile stitch and just have to ask ... what yarn is that? You see, I want to make a crocodile stitch hooded scarf for a little girl whose favourite colour is grass green and I wanted to use a variegated yarn. That looks just the wool I need. Is it Schoppel by any chance?
I've got good news and bad news for you. Bad news is that the green version of the crocodile stitch isn't my creation; it's someone else's photo from flickr. One of my posts with my work on the crocodile stitch is here. I'm trying to work on tags still, so I added it under my work, and there's one for the crocodile stitch too. Good news: Someone else has asked this same question. The brand used is from Estonia and isn't directly sold in the US. There are lots of yarns you can substitute, though, especially handspuns on etsy. I've got a tag for yarn, trying to find a good match for the shawl idea. The yarn I have in mind to use was "Amazing" in rainforest from Lion Brand Yarns. I found some at Walmart, and it's the right texture for my tastes. It's not quite cheap, and each skein or ball isn't very big. If you don't get enough in your first purchase, at least you can go to Walmart and grab more. Lion Brand has sales from time to time, sometimes with free shipping with a minimum purchase. Sign up for their email newsletter, and you'll get notifications about that. Good luck with your project! The crocodile stitch is so much fun to work with.
