Daily Gender Identity Aid
I wanted to post this for some help in confidence building in gender identity as someone who struggled for so long with it. Here’s my personal daily reminders!
- I am allowed to enjoy whatever I like no matter my gender identity
- I am allowed to be emotional because humans of all genders feel
- Strangers might use the wrong pronouns or address me as sir / ma’am but that does not define my gender identity
- My gender is not my personality. It is only a small portion of who I am as a person
- I am allowed to still like parts of my body even if they do not correspond to what is seen by society as male / female
- I am allowed to have days where I still feel confused by my gender
- I am allowed to experiment with my identity until I find what I feel suits me best
- I should never use my gender identity as an excuse to belittle or be toxic to others
- To those who know me or those I will see more than once, I have every right to calmly inform them of / correct them on the correct pronouns or name
- (18+) I do not need permission from my friends or family to get medical aid (with a doctors help) in making my body how I feel it should be
- Just because I am transgender does not make me a “fake” male / female
- If I want to identify as nothing or something in between, that is okay
- Only I know what feels best for me, even if it doesn’t make sense to others and that is okay and does not make me any less of a human than everyone else.
- Gender is only a small fraction of who I am and I am not confined by it
