The wool is attached to a soft, fitted spandex poly cap thing (I sewed that too, also it goes over my ears as I wanted to hide them for Rainbow Dash as I got the pony ears on top) so the wool is not right aganist your head. It feels no warmer to me then wearing a usual wig + wigcap to me, or even a hat in general.
