Note: Hey reader, it's raining here so i came up with this: Loki showing you his frost giant side for the first time and just him scared and alone. Hope you like it, or leave some feedback!
(p.s.) requests are open<3
Loki x reader
Words: 905
Warnings: none this is straight up fluff and tears
It’s pouring outside, you're alone in your bed. It's cold. The rain dripping off the window outside makes you feel extra chilled. It's always cold in the bed when he’s not home, there is no one there to hold on too and snuggle up to for warmth. You continue to stare out the window, rain, thunder, lighting, cold, wet, loud, comforting, blue. You hardly realize that Loki is now home and standing in the bedroom behind you, not trying to sneak up on you but just quiet by nature. Another clap of thunder sends chills down your spine and your breath hitches.
“Darling?” He asks. You jump and whirl around and catch his eyes, red, like blood, cold, harsh, he’s scared. You give him a warm smile and slowly get out of bed and walk towards him. You reach up to cup his face with your hands while standing on your tiptoes.
“Your skin… is freezing” you say in a low tone pausing because you need careful words. You're not afraid of him, quite the opposite actually. Although you haven't told him. He moves away from you and walks to the other end of the room. “Loki?” He spins to face you. “What is it?”
“Nothing darling.” He lies, you can hear it in his words. The god of mischief, a terrible liar, especially to you. “Loki.” You say this time, not asking. He looks directly at you, his eyes, red, still scared. He just shakes his head and quickly looks away. You carefully walk over to him and put a hand on his back. “Loki, please?” You ask again in a loving low tone. “I can’t.” He whispers. “It’s just me Loki. I’m here.” You rub your hand on his back and reach for his hand that the other was holding and pulling on the fingers. He looks at you again, his eyes, red, nervous, hurt. You grab his hand, cold. “I know darling, I just can’t hurt you…” he trails off lost in his own nightmare of a day dream. “Do you trust me?” you ask softly, tracing circles on his back. He’s pulled out of the dream. “ With my life but darling please…” he begs. “Then what does this change?” You ask again. He looks at you with tears in his eyes, red, scared, hurt, crying. “Everything.” He sighs. “It can't,” you say in return. “Loki, nothing you say is going to change the way I feel for you… ever.” Your tone is still low and lovingly, like a mother comforting a crying child. Tears stream down his face, you know Loki. Everything that's happened between him and his family, everything that’s hurt him, everyone who's hurt him. He confides in you which you love because you also confide in him. “I don’t have to say anything.” His tone is harsher, but not at you, the words. “Loki, please. Let me help you. Let me see you.” He turns to face you now and you see his eyes again, red, pain, scared, harsh, deep, cold.
“I’m a monster” he looks directly into your eyes now like he’s staring into your soul. “That’s not true” you say, matching his tone. “You don’t know who I am.” he says and walks away from you to the other side of the room by the door. “ I know who you are to me.” You don’t move. “Loki.”
“Darling?” He asks as if it’s for forgiveness. “Why are your eyes red?” You ask wanting answers. He uses his magic to phase back to ‘normal’ self. “Don’t do that.” you tell him. “Don’t do what?” He asks sarcastically. “You know damn well what.” You say. “Using your magic to avoid telling me whatever it is that is clearly going on.” You sound mad. You're not. Just concerned. “Loki.” He looks back at you with tears in his eyes again. “Please?” you ask him again softly. He looks down. His skin turns blue, and unique patterns of shades of blue and grey cover him. Narrow ridges outline the features on his face. His eyes, blood red, deep, scared, nervous, crying, hurt, in pain, cold, harsh. You walk towards him slowly, almost asking for permission to touch him. You reach your hands up to cup his face and his hands fall to rest on your waist. “I’m a monster.” he tells you again. “And I love you.” you say for the first time. He stares at you like he’s never been told this. “I’m a frost giant.” he tells you like he wants to change your mind. (because of the spell odin placed on him as a baby his cold skin is not harmful.)
“You're beautiful.” You say and pull his head down to kiss his forehead. Tears stream down his face. “I love you too.” He says and keeps staring into your eyes. You wipe his tears and kiss him. You trace your fingers over the patterns on his face while he just looks at you. You look up to meet his eyes, red, love, deep, no pain, still cold, soft, no tears, safe.

You both climb into the bed and you are reminded of the coldness just before he pulls you close and you snuggle up against him for warmth. You look out the window at the rain dripping out the window and fall asleep to the sound of thunder, his breathing and the rhythm of his heartbeat.
Why?Cause I am the monster parents tell their children about at night?
