Shy was born into a family of classical musicians. His father is an orchestral conductor, said to be the leading one of Japan, and thus has influence in the world of classical music.
Burdened with and overwhelmed by expectations from the adults around him and without a choice but to study music, he came to hate music to the point that even just listening to it would make him want to throw up.
When he was in junior high, together with his parents, he moved to Japan and helped his father with his work. As a result, scout offers came pouring in with the hopes that he would join their agency. Because of his hate for music by that point, he declined each and every one of them.
One envelope, however, caught his eye. Inside it was a DVD featuring footage of an idolās live performance. Because there was still time before his next job, he decided to watch it and ended up being completely enthralled. Neglecting that job, he instead headed straight to the company that sent it - Pythagoras agency. It was there that he met Kadena Mai, its president, who he believes saved him. For that reason, the agency is the most important thing to him, and he wishes to repay her some day.
