#laubdry

So today nothing really happened. We (My Mom and Dad) cleaned out our Laundry room (a room underneath the staircase), and sent out Christmas presents to my little brother.  Cleaning out space always reveals memories that you forgot you had. I’m 25 right now, so when I was 5, a friend and I would hang out in the crawlspace on the laundry room. It was our treehouse because the trees in our area were too weak to support treehouses. It was fun I never missed it when I was a kid, but as soon as I saw it, I just really missed the memories. I wouodn’t dare go back in there,  I’m a bit too old and a bit too disabled now haha. 

A longing for memories that you once experienced, but can no longer have are always good memories. But most of those should remain memories. We can get back together with those friends, but to try and replicate those times now would be awful. Not because we are older and our muscles are sound like Rice Krispies whenever we move, but replicating old memories leave something out that make the old memory so attractive, but unattainable. It’s a lesson we must learn the hard way, and it’s a lesson that we will be continuing to learn for a lifetime. It ain’t the first time I’ve done this and I doubt it’ll be the last.
