the night feels fucking horrible.
hive cityâs weather isnât like california or khuraâinâs heat, but itâs colder than heâs used to and only makes his worrying worse. at first, all he can do is jolt from his sleep, not knowing what happened or why heâs awake just after four in the morning until he actually remembers. maybe, he thinks, it couldâve been worse â in his dream, heâd managed to avoid death alongside the only person there that he could recognize. but that still meant both vividly remembering what had happened in full and how worrying it actually felt. he hasnât had a nightmare like that in a while - especially not one that brought up nahyuta and his family and definitely not them being in danger. ( perhaps that was the quirk of trying to forget he was ever in khuraâin years ago. )
when he remembers that he can move, he plunges back in hopes to fall back asleep; but as much as heâd like to, he just canât. instead, he looks for something else to keep his mind on first, vision falling flat on something new at his desk - a phone, he assumes, barely illuminated by the computer light. he ⊠doesnât really remember buying one, not when he wouldnât have been able to use it; but maybe thatâs what people meant by unlocking something as time passed. when it manages to unlock, he drifts towards his contact list, and surprisingly, nahyutaâs there - just the person he wouldâve wondered about. of course, thatâs what his phone says, and while he canât confirm it in advance, it⊠doesnât hurt to give messaging them a shot now, does it?
