I just finished reading through the full first series of Alita, and really want to spotlight one of the best comic series I’ve ever read. I bought this deluxe box set about a year ago after I watched the movie, but only got around to reading it last month. I figured we probably won’t get a sequel to the movie 🤷‍♂️, but I needed to know where this story goes. I had no idea that I was about to embark on an epic journey with this character. I discovered a story that kept me guessing and turning pages through 5 huge volumes! Also, a much better version of this story than I had seen in the movie and the anime. It’s no wonder this series gets so much praise among people who have read it. I’d go as far as to say it really is an essential classic - an incredible work from a single voice and master storyteller: Yukito Kishiro. This deluxe set is by far the best presentation - I love the size of the art and the quality of the print. I also think it is the best version of the translation. I’m only bummed to find out that the sequel - Last Order is not in deluxe format. My hope is that if enough people say they want it, @kodansha_comics will make it happen. I’m holding out for it, cause I need to know where this story and character go next. Please make it so! Would love to hear from anyone who has read this manga.
