pulls him into a very tight hug, burying his face in the lieutenant's shoulder and just. holding him like that for several long moments. "happy father's day, hank. i appreciate you."
There’s a moment where he doesn’t move at all; frozen entirely out of shock. Eventually, slowly, one hand settles against the back of Connor’s head and the lieutenant’s other arm circles around his waist. It’s only when the android speaks that his stance relaxes to allow Connor space to move; when Hank’s face does finally come into view again, it’s wearing a grateful smile.
“Thanks, son.” Despite his size and his capacity for shouting, Hank’s response is soft-- voice wavering even at such a low tone. What more can he ask for? Having Connor here, being able to see him and talk to him, knowing that this connection between them isn’t just imagined--for all the stability Hank has provided throughout his life, Connor has become more of a rock to him than nearly anyone else. Whether as a partner, a friend, or family, Connor has done more than ever was required of him.
“I appreciate you, too, Con-- more than you know.”
