Here's my Lasat Honor Guard Head Canon:
All members of the High Honor Guard are low level Force (Ashla) sensitive.
Hear me out.
We don't know exactly what qualifiers are needed to become an member, but we know only High Honor Guards can carry a bo-rifle. Bo-rifles always gave me lightsaber vibes, with their different colors, and different ways of using energy (like Ezra's first saber).
What if then bo-rifles were powered with kyber-like crystals that were handed down to new guardsmen as older ones retired? And, what if these crystals originally came from Lira San with the Lasats that traveled to Lasan?
These Lira San crystals were always the key to the Lasan people finding their way home. So therefore, would only be given to trusted, Ashla sensitive individuals or families.
Guards would of course, have to go through some kind of spiritual training, maybe to help them connect with the Lira San crystal in their bo-rifle.
This would explain
A] Why Zeb knew Chava (I love how he grudgingly acknowledges her, lol)
B] Why Gron seemed so open to the Ashla teachings and could help with the ritual.
C] How Zeb could access a map using his bo-rifle (in an ancient configuration)
D] How Zeb could use his rifle to guide the Ghost to Lira San.
