Batman: Shadow of the Bat Issue #36.
Yay, Dinah and her differing relationships with her parents. Her mom wanting to keep her out of danger versus her dad encouraging her to follow his detective lifestyle.
Anyway, now I want more Dinah detective stories.

DINAH DRAKE LANCE/BLACK CANARY & LARRY LANCE in SECRET ORIGINS (1985) #50
Denny O'Neil just...my god, I despise that man. Sure, he did a small handful of good things (like helping write for the creeper and reintroduce batman villians into the 70s). But he also made Batman 10x darker than he needed to be, and then gave us disgusting content where batman pretty much brutalizes people. I've read summaries of some stories! In one, a woman confronts Batman about brutalizing people, and he pushes her away from him! Then later he tries to justify it to her as Bruce Wayne!
Also, I know people like his Crime Alley story. But it's literally called "There is No Hope in Crime Alley". A title like that is disgusting and riddled with depressingly bleak cynicism. Screw Denny O'Neil. Screw him letting Jim Starlin kill Jason Todd (he was the editor who held the poll)! Screw him giving Roy Harper addiction issues and ruining Green Arrow! Screw him for killing Larry Lance just so Black Canary could hook up with Green Arrow! Screw him for writing Snapper Carr and Martian Manhunter out of the Justice League! Screw Dennis O'Neil! I hope he's rotting in Hell!

Bring a character back from the dead: Round One Match Thirteen
Larry Lance
Jake Grant
What if the JSA started over from this seed on a new world across the multiverse.
So, these are ideas I have for a fic I’m working on. I have the first 3 chapters posted, but hardly anyone reads it so I’m hoping for feedback here.
To make sure it doesn’t get too long, I’m only mentioning plots I set up in the chapters I already have published.
I’m taking some characters from Gotham, at least in name only, to help fill in some gaps of roles I need filled in the story.
…
In the first two chapters I was trying to show how hard his death hit her and Bruce, hinting towards her relationship with her family, and trying to establish the fact that she has mental health issues. I even did my best to show that it almost became a Gotham that had a Joker but no Bat. Martha’s reaction to Thomas’ death right after it happened was meant to read almost like her reaction to Bruce’s death in Flashpoint, except here Bruce acted as someone to ground her just before it was too late and her laughter turned into crying.
I also have it set up to where Thomas Wayne Jr technically does exist, but I could go one of two ways with him. Either he was a stillborn or the Court Of Owls stole him as a baby after making Thomas and Martha think he died.
In the third chapter I switched to following Gordon and Bullock, hoping to set up some plot ideas I have there. Oswald’s is shown to be working for Sofia Falcone, I’m hoping to write him as a mix between Gotham and The Penguin and her as a mix of Fish Mooney and how she was portrayed in The Penguin. During the scene with the two of them I set up a plot line I’m stealing from Gotham with how Ivy’s parents died because I’m think of having Martha adopt her.
Kristen Kringle acts different than how she did in Gotham because I’m torn between the idea of setting her up to become Martha’s Joker or Riddler or if I’d just keep her as a civilian. I’m not paring her with Ed, I aged him down because I wanted him to sort of end up childhood friends with Bruce. At the same time I also have it that her and Bullock also have sort of a father/daughter or niece/uncle type of relationship.
I also have it that Larry Lance exists and mentioned two vigilantes already exist in Gotham, hoping to set up my idea of having Ted Grant and possibly Dinah Drake help train Martha. Dinah’s involvement is only a maybe because I wrote a conversation between Larry Lance and Harvey Bullock where it was mentioned that Larry’s wife just gave birth, establishing Dinah Lance’s age in this world.
…
Does anyone have ideas on what I could do for any of this? With the ideas of Kristen Kringle, any suggestions? I have an idea where there could be an attack on the GCPD and she kills one of the guys in defense of one of the officers, but I’m not really sure what to do with her outside of that.
With the idea of Ted and/or Dinah training Martha, anyone have ideas on how I could set that up? I’m thinking of maybe just having Alfred wander into his gym being how they meet, but no clue on how him and Martha could find out him and Dinah are Wildcat and Black Canary.
What about suggestions for any of my other ideas?
