73 Questions with Lara Luthor
(In case you don’t know, Vogue does a 73 question interview with celebrities. I already had this image and thought it would be fun to do this!)
1. What’s your favorite time of day?
Probably just before I go to bed. Just sitting in bed and getting work done while having things go on in the background is very relaxing to me.
2. What’s your biggest weakness?
I’m such a people pleaser. Like the “if your friends jumped off a bridge, would you” thing was used a lot by my dad when I was a kid.
3. What’s your biggest strength?
If I find something or someone I like I tend to bite on and not let go like a rabid dog. I need to know everything about it and be the best at it.
4. What’s the biggest learning experience you’ve had?
I remember having this one school project as a kid where I was trying to grow two seeds next to each other to see what the roots would do when they grew because I was convinced they would enter twine and create a new plant or something (in retrospect I have no clue what I was thinking). The thing is it took forever to get the dang things to grow in the plastic cup I was using and I actually started to panic a bit as we got closer to the due date. The day of came and I was ready to plead on my hands and knees for a good grade when I woke up and saw that the roots had grown and the two were kinda dancing around each other.
Long story short, patience is important in anything and worrying doesn’t do anything but stress you out.
5. What’s your idea of a perfect date?
You know, I’d love to go camping on a beach with someone. Have a nice picnic, go on a walk together, then go to sleep in a tent listening to the waves together.
6. What’s one vice you wish you could give up?
Energy drinks and coffee. I’ve got such a caffeine addiction I actually get shaky if I go too long without it.
7. What’s a cause that’s important to you?
I’ve got a couple actually but the big ones that I’ll go on rants about are children’s advocacy especially for kids in the foster care system, gay rights, and equal pay and treatment for women in the workforce (especially in STEM.)
8. What’s the best compliment you have ever received?
I had a little girl come up to me once and ask if I was a princess. I almost sobbed in the car later.
9. When do you feel the most inspired?
God that’s a hard one. I’d have to say when something about a problem or a puzzle or anything like that finally clicks. The high from figuring something out I couldn’t before will get me going for at least a day.
Depends on the day but I’d probably say sweet usually.
11. What song can you listen to on repeat?
I’ve been listening to Dark Lady by Cher a lot recently so probably that?
12. What makes you smile the most?
Probably my dog. She’s a little mess of a thing and just existing around her makes me happy.
13. What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
Not quite something people don’t know about me but something they forget is that I grew up on a farm for my first six years of life. I get this reputation for being delicate and breakable but I used to climb trees and try to race the horses to the other side of the paddock.
14. Heels or flats or sneakers?
Heels but if my feet get tired then sneakers.
Vintage just because it tends to mean more to me. I’ll get a lot of new clothes but getting an old pair of vintage shoes makes me feel connected to someone I may have never even known.

The internet, coffee, and my allergy medications.
17. Window or aisle seat?

Diamonds. They’re a girl’s best friend after all.

How they carry themselves I think. It usually sets up how I’m going to carry myself so I like to pay attention to that.

Been listening to Edge of Seventeen a lot lately.

It’s ok for everything to not be perfect. In fact, it’s almost impossible for things to be perfect all the time.

A mint or two just in case and some lipstick for a refresh. Also some Zyrtec if you’re me.

I can’t roll my r’s. I’ve done everything I can but it just doesn’t work.

Fun, weird, worth it… but I guess that’s four?
68. Do you like surprises?
I mean it depends on the surprise. If the surprise is “here’s a slice of cake cause it’s someone’s birthday in the office” I love it. If it’s “plot twist! You forgot the carpet people were coming today!” I have a mini panic attack.
69. What’s one thing you had to learn the hard way?
Not everyone is going to like you and that’s alright. Don’t waste your effort on trying to convince someone that you’re their cup of tea when you’re not…. That and pepper spray is not a toy.
70. What’s something you’re tired of?

71. Who do you turn to when you’re sad?
72. What’s a trend you would like to see disappear forever?
