—COBRA KAI THOUGHTS:
the way people hold black victims of bullying to white is so telling. how is kenny (cobra kai) not the same as hawk when it comes to his bullying? they parallel each other so much but "kenny went too far?!" the show took away anthony's friends deliberately to make him look like a bigger victim when kenny was getting him back. and so many people fell for it!
sure the toilet situation was disgusting, but everyone forgets who started it. anthony started it! i am not defending kenny's actions but when a victim gets revenge everyone drops them because they're not the "perfect victim" anymore and yes race has something to do with it, it always does! especially since actors looks get dragged into it as a defence for fans to change sides.
it's so tiring to see the same thing over and over again. this is not to say you cannot like imperfect characters because do whatever you like, but hold everyone to the same standard as many fans of cobra kai don't. whether it's based on the actor and their attraction to them, or how the writers are catering to character or simply because you never paid attention to each arc.
