in the wrong au, how much is sanders and how much is the thing, like how aware is he about whats going on

There's not much of him left, but he tries to fight what the Thing is making him do. If he fights hard enough it ends up with him scratching at his head and getting nosebleeds due to the Thing making mincemeat of his noggin.

Unfortunately, he doesn't really get to have a happy ending. I have a version of the AU (Lapse) that goes After AU's route of lasting into recent years, and he's even worse due to the real Sanders essentially dying decades ago and the Thing getting stir crazy with no way to leave Antarctica.

The nickname Zev for him in that comes from one of the Russian people from the 2018/19 outpost calling him "zver'", or "зверь", which means "beast".
