Alana was waiting when Aloy and Teersa emerged. She scrambled to her feet, bowing her head to the high matriarch, and then beginning to quickly check her sister's throat.
"If you ever scare me like that again I'll throw you off a cliff." Aloy laughed softly, taking her hand.
"I'm okay, Lana. Promise." She frowned a bit. "But I have to go to Meridian. Someone working with them was from the entourage, an Oseram named Olin." Alana frowned and then turned to the three high matriarchs
"We will need to be Seekers to pursue them."
"Yes, High Matriarch Jezza. My little sister nearly died. I'm not letting her leave the Sacred Lands without me." Lansra moved to argue, and Alana spoke again. "We will go, no matter what. Those who nearly killed my sister, and who we'll be tracking, they meant to disrupt the Proving, to destroy the next generation of Braves. They need to be punished for it." Teersa stepped forward.
"You are correct, and I, at the least, believe you should both be granted this right." She turned. "What say you, sisters?" There was a bit of grumbling from Lansra, but they were both made Seekers. They were walking away when Aloy froze. "You good, kid?"
"We have to tell mom and dad." Alana froze as well.
"...We could just go. We don't have to tell them."
"They'd skin us." Alana groaned, burying her face in her hands.
"They'll understand. They will, they have to. They nearly killed you, nearly disrupted the Proving, they'll understand."
"Understand what?" The girls both jumped at the sound of their mother's voice.
"Aloy has something to tell you."
"Traitor!" Aloy smacked her sister's arm, and their mother smiled slightly.
"I'm listening." Aloy took a deep breath.
"We're Seekers and we're going to Meridian to find the people that attacked the Proving love you bye!" The two girls took off running, their mother whipping around to stare after them. Oh they were never going to hear the end of this when they came back. At least they'd live long enough to find the killers.
