Lando actually did suffer with back pain during 2022 after regulation changes led to rebound effects.

He has talked about it before in interviews. Here's a little screenshot from the one I could find from September 2023

Lando’s brother Oliver Norris on his and Lando’s different childhood heroes:

🗣️: “You two got very different childhood heroes though, how does that work where yours is in Formula 1 and then Lando's is completely not? Different posters on the wall? [..]”

Oliver Norris: “Yeah, definitely. I think Lando had a lot of inspiration. He loved motorbikes and MotoGP and Rossi and his helmet design. [..]”

what history do logan and zhou have with lando 👀

ok don't ask me about how the whole karting system works but Logan crossed over in RFM with Lando and Oscar who ofc continued racing with him in Renault Academy and Zhou has stayed lowk tight with Lando and highkey tight with Oscar (and same with Max! who crossed over with him in RFM and Renault Academy)

like it's crazy bc we get initially so caught up in the friendships that have best bang for the buck PR and then you start seeing how sometimes these guys are even tighter with drivers you rarely ever "see" them with (basically not many ppl or photographers pay attention and media/sponsors don't see fan engagement in it) and Zhou is among the absolutely criminally insanely underrated drivers and has friendships with SO many drivers and stayed friends all of the guys he's known since junior formulas

about bob dylan, yes! mentioned being a fan and said he’s been listening to it back then, this was in miami ? if i’m not mistaken, also mentioned bob in his 2025 board.

about johnny i was sadly wrong :( he does say he is a fan but i forgot he then says it’s a joke and mentions that his dad does like it so he grew up listening to johnny. can’t add the video here but it’s in the mclaren austin 2023 “finish the lyrics” video, right after they guessed the ring of fire.

I need more dragon au thoughts! Lando has a back story?

This blog is an Egg Fanblog now. We don't know Lando, we only know his fictional dragon Egg 😂😂

Yes! Lando has a backstory now, and I've been doing some world building with the help of @f1-birb 👀

So there are two ways to get a dragon in this au; one is to be from a family considered as Dragon Born who are descendants from the first dragon riders (Lance, George, Lando), or you can be chosen by a dragon to be their bonded rider (which is Max and Esteban) (haven't decided about Charles and Daniel yet)

Lando is Dragon Born but with a little bit of a twist.

Lando in this is related to George. They're cousins, but by adoption which no one really knows about. There are rumours about Lando as he grows up, that he doesn't look like his parents and that he is probably a bastard and that's why his egg never hatched.

The truth is Lando was found by his adoptive Fathers dragon when he was about a year old. He was left in a wooded area between the land his adoptive parents held and another neighbouring little kingdom that was under attack and invasion.

His adoptive parents are a small noble family and retreated to this home away from everyone when his mother was pregnant but her baby was sickly, and ended up passing away at about six months old, and they kept it secret while they mourned.

And then the dragon shows up with Lando, who's only a little younger than their own lost child, and they end up taking him in because they desperately want a child, and this is a blessing right? And this baby needs a home.

They suspect that Lando is the son of the other family who's little kingdom was invaded and taken over, and the whole family was killed in the battle including children, but there was talk of a second son around Lando's age and with how all the dragons take to him so easily, they just agree to keep it secret and pass Lando off as their baby that has 'healed' with the sea air and is strong enough to return to the cities when he's a bit older.

The thing is that the family who were killed, were the last of the descendants of the original Dragon Borns. They were the first family to bond with dragons and gain their trust, but over the years lost their larger seats and were eventually wiped out; except for baby Lando, and that's why all the dragons he meet seem to instantly take to him in a way they don't to other Dragon Borns or bonded riders. They can sense where Lando came from, and it endears them to him.

🗣️: “We touched on your junior card career and your dad. I know you've said before that he separated you from Lando at one point to stop the competition. Was that a conversation he even had with you or he just went ‘right, you two, different series’?”

Oliver Norris: “Yeah, I think it was a sort of - I think probably a good thing at the time. You know, that's the only thing we sort of cared about and probably had a couple early collisions, you know, being young. But yeah, we went two different routes and it worked out pretty well. We both then diverged and we both raced against each other in later years. It was sort of good comp- I think, healthy competition. It helped to push each other quite a lot very early on when we were young.”

As someone with a back injury, I can give my opinion that yes it probably is an ongoing thing and always will be.

Obviously, I cannot speak for everyone or Lando and I am not a doctor, but I know from my experience that back injuries/problems never fully heal to 100%.

I went from being healthy to my accident to being okay to a month later where I couldn't sit/stand/lie comfortably and I could barely lift my left leg to put on shoes and socks.

Thanks to physio, I have full range of motion and most days I feel great, but the injury is still there. I have days where standing or sitting is uncomfortable. I get bad pain in my back into my hip and down my knee cause my injury impacted my sciatic nerve.

So I assume that Lando probably has a lot of good and bad days too. He is in the position where he has Jon and a team of health care professionals to help adjust work outs, physio, lifestyle to help with this.

I know my dear @elementalmoments added to the og ask with the info that Lando has a special mattress he has shipped to hotels during race weekends which I assume is for back health and sleep health (it's briefly mentioned in this Vogue article x).
