A Father
"Ria is my daughter, she will always come first." Kane spoke firmly, arms folded tightly against his chest. He was leaning against the wall behind him, shoulder's tense.
"I know," Lance said, unsurprised and unbothered by what Kane had said. It made Kane shift on his feet, unsure of what he should do now.
"It does not bother youโฆ?" Kane asked, his eyes drifting down to the wood floors. The many different scenarios that had pestered his brain smacking right into a wall.
"Kane." Lance spoke his tone flat and all the usual sugary sweetness was gone. "I am a father, I know your child will always come first."
There was a long silence that stretched over the air, until Kane looked at Lance, finding the princeโs eyes on him. "Youโฆ You have a child?โ A flicker of grief passed through Lanceโs eyes and a tired smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
