--- @ladyrcd ---
it was COLD outside, especially when compared with the booming celebration that had the great keep filled to the brim with fires and steamy food and laughter and cheer --- which was, precisely, why Jon had eventually found himself in dire need of some fresh air. there was a dull throbbing already starting in his temples, though whether from the ruckus inside or from how much he’d had to drink, it proved impossible to tell... might be that so boldly taking Tormund up on his challenge had not be such a clever idea, after all.
the feast had left quite a warm feeling in his chest however, a sort of lightness of spirit he’d not felt in literal years, and therefore he had no motives to complain --- at least until morning came, and all his bad choices for the night finally caught up with him. for the time being, the bastard was sitting on a bench by the training yard, simply enjoying the peace and quiet and trying to sober up a bit... when the faint sound of FOOTSTEPS approaching caught his attention. slowly reopening his eyes, then, he was just in time to catch a blur of red coming closer and closer to him, almost like a flame that had jumped out of the hearth --- till eventually he was able to recognize the lady’s beautiful features. an unexpected encounter... and yet, for once, he found himself smiling at her.
‘ you’re not enjoyin’ yourself with the rest of ‘em? ‘
