CA Mini Event - Lovely ladybug: That one time Mary hated Seto (stolencharm)
The day was like any other day. Valentine's Day barely had passed, the sun was coming out more frequently and while it was still cold, Mary went out.
With a thick coat, a scarf, mittens and a woolen hat, Mary dared to step outside. There was no snow anymore, which was a bit sad but she could see the trees carrying buds and the gray-brown meadows and fields getting little patches of greens again.
Insects and bugs were still rare, so Mary was surprised to see a ladybug fly around her. Curiously she reached out with her finger and smiled when it landed on her finger, like she hoped.
"Hello little ladybug...huh? Are those hearts on your- ah-" There was a tiny, gentle prick on her finger and the ladybug took off to fly away. Mary didn't understand fully...did it bite her? It didn't hurt except for that one moment and she didn't feel much different, so she shrugged, a bit sad the ladybug left her (and bit her?) and went her way.
Mary bought flowers, because, there was going to be a big party at the Mekakushidan's house. Momo's birthday was barely a week ago and they had found so many of their group again, who moved in with everyone, that danchou had decided to organize a big party. Mary has been tasked with buying a bouquet of flowers.
Upon returning, she found everyone quite busy with preparations, so she quietly took a chair, placed it underneath the cupboard and climbed it to retrieve a big flower vase.
Mary was being Mary. A clumsy misstep and...well.
Good thing, her hero, her knight in shining (green) armor caught her with a "Woah, careful there, Mary!"
Something strange happened though. The usual happiness seemed to get stuck somewhere within Mary. Instead anger surfaced. Loathe, bitterness. Feelings unfamiliar to her, or deeply buried and never before had been directed at this man. So why...?
"Let me go...e" she quietly asked, confused at herself but not wanting to look at Seto, neither thanking nor smiling at him. She simply turned away from him and left the room.
She caught herself looking back, seeing Seto's utterly confused, almost even heartbroken look and she...felt satisfied? Why was that so? Why did thinking of that young man fill her with anger. When she searched for a reason, there was none, but all she knew was, the feeling was there. She didn't want to be close to him. To see him or to talk to him.Â
(Strangely, though, her heart felt funny at that thought.)
