Somerset and Ladybug were remarkably calm pets and made for wonderful companions during quiet time. Rosalind would follow the morning sun across the wraparound porch with a cuppa, marveling at how well the established cat and the new dog got along. She wishes her children could take a page from their book. Ruefully, she wishes she and Goneril could do the same.

"We've got the big family. What more could you want?"

"Time. With you, as well as the children."

Time. Rosalind and Goneril were trying to figure out how best to use it within their family. Rosalind's quiet time is peaceful (and necessary, to have a breather), but she quickly misses her partner and children. They're a pleasure for her to return to and fill her cup with playtime and homework helping and the eternal child's question of "why?". Meanwhile, Goneril views time as a currency that, if used improperly, is wasted. From their point of view, time is best spent making career moves and moving up the corporate ladder. Rosalind knows it's a Capp thing. She just thought Gon might want to shift their stance, considering Cordelia's return... but that suggestion was not well-received.

How could being CEO of Capulet wines be more important that having a family member literally come back from the dead? Since losing the role in a shareholder vote to Cordelia, Goneril's been distant with Rosalind and the children. When Rosalind asks how they're feeling about everything, they give a crumb of information: they want to become a media mogul and "control the narrative."

Since starting school, Ariel was drawn to books and could often be found curled up with an encyclopedia. Meanwhile, Somerset and Ladybug realised that felines and canines could get along famously. If all three were in a room, only the lightest tippy-tapping of claws and the occasional turning of a page could be heard.

Rosalind confesed to Goneril that she wasn't used to this relatively low level of noise. They smiled and drew her into an embrace.

"Don't worry, the chaos you love so much isn't over yet. Des'll be a teenager soon!" They brushed aside a lock of Rosalind's thick golden hair. "Go get that haircut you've been talking about. My treat."

The moment of respite was taken and Rosalind committed to the shorter pixie cut she'd seen on an actress in a magazine. Miranda emerged to view the transformation.

"It's nice. Suits you."
