first off, of course, the song is perfect. “all i ever wanted was time”, that’s leela alright. leela does not act on impulse (usually) and needs time to think things through, especially regarding a certain red head. i remember when you told me the song back in the summer and i started listening to it and seeing all the ways it fit so well 👀

i really loved how you framed it as a timeline of her life, it worked sooo well and the moments you chose were perfect 💕💕

one of my favorite parts of the song, which i had been thinking of a ton when listening to it is the “I still feel your sunlight” because it’s so perfect for fry??? fry is the sun, we’ve discussed this so many times and it will never stop being true. I loved that first panel with that lyric with fry playing the holophoner, the space background merged in with the whole thing looked so good ughhh

i also love “I know that I come on strong” because it just really describes Leela. like there’s not a ton to say here, but it’s just one of my favorites

I liked how after the first chorus, we see a positive change in leela and her relationship with Fry, mirroring the song and the show itself!!! And especially!!!!! Having the “I see you in this new and perfect light” with the sting!!!! do you want to kill me?? if i hadn’t already been murdered by the beginning, i would’ve certainly died then

and of course, Lars 💕💕💕 seeing him made me cry i swear. and it was just the perfect place to have him, i loved it

i loved the panel of fry falling, the colors, the lighting, the background!!! it was so good omg

the panel with Leela’s bloody hands took my breath away in such a horrible but good way. like seeing that was shocking and heart wrenching.

alright but okay the biggest thing i wanted to talk about was the chorus itself, because i saw what you did and i was losing my mind!!! i loved it soooo much omg and wrote about it like legit that night, thinking i’d talk to you about it much sooner 😂 this is what i wrote like a month ago:

I love how for each of these you had a different time-related episode

1. Time Keeps on Slippin - it’s too early for this now, she needs time before they could be together. But also!!! They needed the time between that made them get tpgether, but they didn’t get it. If they had it, they could be happily married

2. The Late Philip J Fry - okay so so many of these hit me, but the one of both of them standing in the cave???? holy crap!! Here, the time she wanted was taken again. The time they had was cut short (i think this may have been by my favorite panel btw but it’s so hard to choose)

3. Meanwhile - ohhhh my god the fact that you ended it all with Meanwhile killed me. She (and Fry!) got all the time they needed. “All we ever needed was time.” And I just love how the song switches to this plural pronoun. I loved seeing such a happy, old leela who finally got everything she wanted and needed

like this was such a perfect usage of the lyrics with these episodes and i died. just incredible

i loved all the coloring and shading of everything, it was so cool to see. and especially some with the extremely dramatic lighting, you did it so well 😭 i also really liked the creative word placement of the lyrics in different panels, it was so nice
