July 13
Friday the 13th. Who knew today would be such a lucky day? :) Started early this morning at LA Open practice ice (6 AM) at pickwick. Not a bad start. Some chick from Arizona was there though and she had all her triples and was sucking up my confidence like a black hole. Lull. Anyways, afterwards I ate a chocolate chip muffin to get my competition mode turned on. Mmmmmmm :p Then, at noon, I competed my short program. It was clean :) I did get a downgrade on my double axel though... But I got a level 3 on my change-foot combo spin (CCoSp3) and level 2's on my step sequence and layback spin. Overall, I had a personal best of 27.65! I came in 4th out of 12 skaters! Omg! *happy dance :) I even got a medal :D It has been such a long time since I have placed well in competition (thanks to the new judging system); it feels great to be towards the top again :) After the excitement of my placement, I went to Torrance to get an hour of practice for long tomorrow. What a coincidence! Heidi Han (the girl that placed 3rd in my group) was there as well! I think made a new friend today :)
