L-Burn Illuminati - Eight Arms (Octo Marvellous)
Yes/No/Maybe - Floral Foam (Live MPC ReFlip)
Here is an ultra cool remix of Aoi's Floral Foam and a new video to accompany it that everyone should watch. The dude you see hitting the MPC is Andrew a.k.a. Yes/No/Maybe, a friend and local beat maker from Melbourne. The clips projected onto Andrew are various snippets from videos that photographer Nicholas Dureau filmed whilst he was over in America last year. The combination of the two is magic. Have a look. 420 Thirst Century Love Sonnets
The statute of limitations for any chance I had of a Valentine has well and truly passed. Let's just focus on the only good thing that happened for me on that day, which was the release of 420 Thirst Century Love Sonnets, the first few tracks from the much-anticipated NeuroMantix project.
NeuroMantix is the collaboration between two of L-Burn's finest: the personality and energy of stoner demigod Mr. DNA going over the ethereal soundscapes of Naminé.
It's a match made in heaven, which is where it sounds like you're floating. I can't decide who's stepping their game up to who on these two tracks. DNA goes from philosophical aphorisms to street rat trash-talk, while Naminé channels the absolute heights of cloud rap.
Watch the video for 'Planting Seeds, Spreading Tentacles' below. Then head over to the NeuroMantix Bandcamp, do what Mr. DNA says and "TAKE DRUGS VIBE OUT MAKE LOVE TO YOUR HAND OR SOMEONE ELSE FILM IT RECORD IT HAVE FUN FUCK EVERYTHING ♥"
PS: If you're into this whole Melbourne thing, and you should be, there's no reason not to come to Kwasi's launch on Friday night. It's presented by our friends at Bossman, it's being held at the heaviest basement venue in Melbourne, it'll feature appearances from the whole L-Burn gang, and there's free vodka. Peep the poster below:

Kwasi Bongo - Passportal
2012 might be the year the world ends but it also looks like it'll be the year Melbourne hip-hop blows up. Kwasi Bongo (the guy on the left in the picture above) just dropped a preview video for his upcoming 'Passportals' release, via our local buddies Bossman Records. Check it out:

Hopefully the video's "stoner meets space explorer" vibe extends to the whole release. Bossman's saying it's a "half hour journey through the night" which gets me real excited because I'm a nocturnal kinda guy.
Kwasi's a real local talent with unique swag. If you've ignored our past cheerleading for the guy, have a quick listen to the crazy shit on his Soundcloud.
