Kurayoshi is located in the central part of Tottori Prefecture. You can find many warehouses with soil lacquering in the preservation district. In this district too, you can spot plenty of galleries and gift shops also numerous eateries and cafes. A perfect place for a stroll around and enjoy local eateries.

Machiya Seisuian It’s almost lunchtime when we arrived at Kurayoshi. While reading many articles about Kurayoshi, we read so many good recommendations about this restaurant, Machiya Seisuian. The restaurant is famous for its 12-colored mochi-shabu (mochi: rice cakes), served with vegetables and seafood. The 12-colored mochis have 12 different flavors, like matcha, carrot, and others. Sanbutsu-ji Temple We were not planning to visit this temple in the beginning, but we were curious about the most dangerous national treasure. The temple built into the mouth of a cave and you have to climb Mount Mitoku to reach this temple. It was a rainy day and we were not equipped with proper clothing to climb.
