it was way too fucking late at this point, and dennis really should be back in his bed at this point. but ... he was having fun, a lot of fun, talking with abby. she had agreed to hang around with him while he locked up the bar, which just turned into them chatting and sharing some drinks ( okay maybe taking a few shots ). for once, dennis wasn't currently overthinking every single thought that passed through his head. he felt light, fuzzy, good. abby seemed to feel the same, at least, which dennis was happy for. he wasn't quite ready to end their conversation yet. which is why, after he had finally locked up the bar, he offered a cigarette to her once they were outside. maybe he could keep the night going, keep this feeling going. she had agreed and dennis was elated, something he would normally try to hide, but he can't help but let the goofy smile spread across his face as they walked towards her car.
"y'know what ... y' do piss me off, actually." dennis comments, giving a roll of his eyes as he moves to lean against the hood of the charger. cigarette pack is fished out of his pocket, withdrawing two and handing one over to her. "you do have a better car than me. it's ... fuckin' annoying. really pisses me off." he's giggling through, moving to light his cigarette. instead of passing the lighter over to abby, he just waves her over, lighting the lighter and extending it towards her. he was a gentleman, and he was going to light this cigarette for her if it's the last fucking thing he did. "nah ... you're ... i'm just fuckin' with you. you're not that bad, y'know. like, i'm pretty sure this is the most i've laughed in a while."
