Killua

Initial Reaction: Suspicious, wary… but intrigued. You’re clearly not normal, and that’s saying something coming from a trained assassin.

Killua’s instincts are sharp. The first time he sees you murmuring to a floating remnant of aura from a long-dead soldier, he doesn’t freak out. He just watches. Quiet. He finds it cool, actually.

“So you talk to dead people? That’s kinda awesome.”

You blush because no one has ever reacted positively before. “Oh… thank you, Mister Zoldyck.”

“Don’t call me that.” Cue him getting flustered.

Killua teases you at first, testing your reactions. But you never get sarcasm. You just smile sweetly and answer in such a sincere, weirdly poetic way that he ends up genuinely charmed.

He starts trying to make you laugh on purpose- telling ghost jokes, poking fun at how dramatically you speak (“‘Twas not a rabbit- it was a hare of the graveyard”).

He grows protective. You’re the kind of girl people might make fun of or use. He won’t let that happen.

Once, he saw someone try to prank you- and you cried, thinking it was real cruelty. Killua didn’t hesitate to glare them into oblivion.

You once clung to his arm after a busy marketplace overwhelmed you. He froze up, face burning red, but let you stay. "Just… don't do that when I’m in front of Gon."

Gon

Gon is so fascinated by you. Not scared. Not creeped out. Just fascinated.

He asks so many questions. “You can really talk to ghosts? Like, what do they say? Are they nice? Can they see us right now??”

You answer patiently and poetically, sometimes trailing off into eerie little anecdotes from spirits you’ve met. Gon just listens, eyes wide, nodding the whole time.

He once brought you a bright yellow flower and said, “I thought you could use some color.”

You blinked, stunned, and then hugged him with shaking arms. He was the first person who gave you a gift.

“You’re warm,” you whispered.

“You’re cold!” he replied with a grin. “But it’s okay, I don’t mind.”

He thinks your old-fashioned speech is cute. He tries to mimic it, which ends up sounding horribly wrong.

“My dearest Gon, that phrasing implies you wish to be beheaded.”

“Oh.”

Gon tries to introduce you to more people and socialize you- though you usually end up hiding behind his back or holding onto his shirt.

He doesn’t get offended when you cling or ask strange questions. “What is… laughter supposed to feel like?” “How does one ‘chill out’ without freezing?”

He teaches you slang. You use it horribly, and he loves it.

Kurapika

He senses immediately that you’ve been through something dark and unnatural.

“You carry the scent of death,” he says at your first meeting.

“Yes,” you reply calmly. “It lingers. Mother said I was born in its arms.”

He’s unsettled- but respectful.

Very gentle with you.

He helps you learn how to interact with people. Explains social norms and expressions. You listen attentively and bow every time you thank him.

“You don’t have to bow so much.”

“But I must- your kindness is the first I have received without price.”

That stops him cold.

Your abilities are powerful and intriguing. He starts researching old Nen practices to understand you better.

He brings you books, ancient and dusty. You treasure them.

The first time you got angry (when someone insulted your mother), you accidentally summoned a ghostly knight from residual aura.

Kurapika didn’t even flinch. He calmly stepped in front of you and said, “You don’t need to summon anything. I’ll handle it.”

You wept afterward, because someone defended you. He sat beside you for hours in silence.

Leorio

Leorio tries so hard not to be scared of you. But the necromancer vibes? The castle upbringing? The way you stare at people like you’re calculating their soul’s weight? Yeah. It throws him.

“Y-You’re kidding- she was born dead?!”

“It is as you say, Doctor Paradinight.”

“Don’t call me that! Also, how do you even know words like ‘regretful lamentation’?”

“My bedtime stories were elegies.”

Eventually, he warms up to you a lot. He realizes you’re not creepy- you’re just sheltered.

He teaches you how to go grocery shopping. You got overwhelmed by cereal boxes.

“There are… so many colors… are they poisonous?”

“No, that’s just branding.”

He sees you as like, a little sister in need of protection, but also admires your powers.

You once healed someone by temporarily binding their wound with a ghostly remnant of their past strength. He was stunned.

“That was amazing. You could… you could help people with that.”

Your smile at his praise made his face go red. He didn’t know someone could look so elegant and so happy at the same time.

He teaches you how to joke. You try your best. Once you made a pun about skeletons having “no guts,” and he howled.
