ふくしまの食べ物入門（第4弾）

  Hello, this is Ken.

This time I would love to introduce one of unique hamburgers of my area to you.

  こんにちは。ケンです。

今回は私たちの地域のユニークなハンバーガーの一つを紹介したいと思います。

●Kumini burger (Hamburger of Kunimi town)

As you know, usually beef is used for cooking hamburger. However, when it comes to hamburger sold in Kunimi town, Fukushima, instead of using beef, they use simmered mackerel with miso (soybean paste) which is one of Japanese traditional homemade dishes, for the hamburger steak. Some members of the commerce and industrial association hit on an idea to use simmered mackerel with miso (bones are also soft enough to eat) cooked by one of the most famous shops in the town “Sakuma-syoten(shop)”  and bread of also one of the most famous shops “Sakuma-pangten(bakery)” after The Great East Japan Earthquake. Now this unique hamburger is sold at the café-type restaurant of “Michi no Eki（Roadside station） Kunimi Atukashino-sato”. Of course it’s selling very well!!

通常ハンバーガーにはビーフのハンバーグが使われていますが、福島県の国見町で売られているハンバーガーは、ビーフのハンバーグの代わりに、日本の家庭料理であるサバの味噌煮が使われています。東日本大震災の後、国見町商工会のメンバーが、町の佐久間商店の名物「骨まで食べられるサバの味噌煮」と同じく「佐久間パン店」のパンを組み合わせて開発したものです。国見町にある「道の駅国見あつかしの郷」のカフェレストランで販売されており、大変好評を得ています。

We adults learned a lot from children

 Hello, this is Ken, administrator of this blog.

I attended the camping event with Mr. Otto and three other foreigners.

As Mr. Otto mentioned, it rained a lot for the first second days and became sunny on the last day.

Nevertheless, I could enjoy the whole schedule.

To be honest, I wanted to take foreign participants to waterfalls and beautiful lakes, therefore on the first day, it was really disappointing to see raindrops hitting on the roofs of our tents.

I thought the children would be disappointed too. Of course, they got disappointed a bit but they seemed to find a way to make the most of the circumstance.

With a bunch of help from the lively children, we adults could have fun to play games in the gym and cook meals beside our tents and take a shower with them.

The children showed us their enthusiasm on everything they could do at the moments.

We, at least I could learn a lot from the children.

And I could go back to my childhood just for a while.

 On the last day, I saw some children asking foreigners to take some pictures together.

I really hope they will be able to meet again someday.

Of course I will try to make an opportunity for them to meet and talk again.

 I admire all the participants of the camping event, all the teachers, volunteers, foreigners and of course children.

  私たち大人が子どもたちから学びました。

 こんにちは、ブログの管理人のケンです。

私もオットーさんやほかの３人の外国人と一緒にキャンプに参加しました。

オットーさんの言うとおり、１日目と２日目は雨がたくさん降っており、３日目に晴れました。

しかしながら、私はすべての行程を楽しむことができました。

正直な話、私は外国人参加者たちを滝や美しい湖に連れて行ってあげたかったので、1日目、雨がテントの屋根に当たっている様子を見てがっかりしました。

子どもたちもがっかりするものと思っていました。もちろん彼らは少なからずがっかりしたのですが、すぐに状況を最大に楽しむ方法を見つけたようです。

元気な子どもたちの助けを借りて、私たち大人は体育館でのゲームやテント脇での夕食の準備、お風呂を楽しむことができました。

子どもたちは、その時々にできるすべてのことに打ち込む姿勢を見せてくれました。

私たち、少なくとも私は子どもたちからたくさん学ぶことができました。そしてしばし、子どもの頃に戻ることができました。

 最終日、何人かの子どもたちが外国人参加者に一緒に写真をとろうと言っている姿を見かけました。

いつか彼らが再会できればと強く思います。

もちろん私は、彼らが再会して再び話せるような機会を設けたいと思っています。

 先生方やボランティア、外国人、もちろん子どもたち、すべての参加者に敬意を表します。

●国見町のキャンプイベントのオリエンテーションに行ってきました。

It’s getting hotter and hotter by degrees here in Fukushima.

In a sense, It’s the best season for camping outside.

 こんにちは。ブログの管理人、ケンです。

福島では日に日に暑くなっています。

ある意味、キャンプにはうってつけの季節ですね。

 From July 24th to 26th, the municipal board of education of Kunimi town in Fukushima is going to carry out a camping event for school kids of the town.

Some members of my office and 4 foreigners are also going to attend the event.

Of course some of the participants will post a report after the event, but today I would like to tell you something about the orientation meeting.

 ７月24日から26日まで、国見町教育委員会の主催により、国見町の子どもたち向けのキャンプイベントが行われます。

私の職場のメンバー何人かと、４人の外国人がそのキャンプに参加します。

もちろん、キャンプの参加者の何人かがレポートをブログに投稿する予定ですが、今日はオリエンテーションについてちょっとお話します。

 There was the orientation meeting on July 8th, in Kunimi town.

One of my co-workers and I attended the meeting with Lucy, from New Zealand.

We practiced to cook rice by using outdoor cooking utensils after we listened to the explanation regarding the schedule and what to bring on the day.

 ７月8日、オリエンテーションが国見町で行われました。

私と同僚の一人が、ニュージーランド出身のルーシーと一緒に参加しました。

スケジュールや持ち物に関する説明を受けた後、私たちは飯盒をつかった炊飯の仕方を練習しました。

 It was a bit difficult to make it but we practiced very enthusiastically because we would cook Japanese curry and rice on the first day of the event. The quality of rice is very important to enjoy it from the bottom of our hearts.

 ちょっと難しかったのですが、かなり熱心に練習しました。なぜなら、イベント初日にカレーライスを作る予定だからです。ごはんの出来具合は、カレーライスを心から楽しむためにはとても重要です。

 Some kids were naughty enough to give a salty rice ball to Lucy in order to see her reaction. Of course Lucy didn’t get angry at the kids. They seemed to be good friends after the prank.

 子どもたちの何人かは、ルーシーにしょっぱいおにぎりをあげて反応をよろこんだりして元気いっぱいでした。もちろんルーシーは怒ったりせず、むしろそのいたずらの後いいお友だちになったみたいです。

 Now I’m so excited to go camping with kids and foreigners!!!

Hello, this is Ken. It’s getting humid and hotter day by day here in Fukushima. Summer, I mean, the season for peach is coming soon. This time I would like to introduce you some of momo(peach) sweets of our area.

こんにちは。ケンです。 福島では日に日に湿度が上がって暑くなりつつあります。 夏、つまり桃の季節がもうすぐやってきます。 今回は桃スイーツをご紹介したいと思います。

●Momo (peach) sweets of Kunimi town. As you might know, peaches of our area are the best ones in the world with no doubt. Of course peaches themselves are fabulous in terms of the taste, scent, and texture. In addition to that, nowadays we can spot high quality momo sweets everywhere when we walk on the streets. Above all, momo sweets of Kunimi town are outstanding. You can find a variety of beautiful and mouthwatering momo sweets, if you go to “Michi no eki (Roadside station) Atsukashino sato” (at the café inside the road station). The recipes of those sweets were created by students of the Sakurano Seibo Junior College, one of the colleges here in Ken-poku (northern part) area of Fukushima prefecture. Three local sweet shops are providing the momo sweets based on the students’ recipes, by using peaches grown in Kunimi town. As you see, those momo sweets are very colorful, beautiful and of course yummy. I highly recommend you having some of those sweets at the roadside station!!!   御存知かと思いますが、県北地方の桃はまちがいなく世界最高のものです。 もちろん、桃そのものも味、香り、食感においてすばらしいです。 最近では、街を歩いているとどこにいっても最高の桃スイーツを見かけます。 とりわけ、国見町の桃スイーツは目を引きます。 道の駅国見あつかしの郷（のカフェ）に行くと、いろいろな種類の美しく、おいしい桃スイーツに遭遇します。 これらスイーツのレシピは、地元の大学のひとつ、桜の聖母短期大学の学生たちによって考案されました。地元の３つのパティスリーが、レシピを基に国見町の桃を使用したスイーツを作って提供しています。 御覧のとおり、ここの桃スイーツはとてもカラフルで美しく、そしてもちろんおいしいです。 道の駅のカフェでスイーツを召し上がってみてください!!!
