1930s CHINA -- A city seemingly normal to anyone but below the fair facade of busy city streets, bustling citizens going about their lives, goes on a war of territory and a spot on top. A battleground for gangs of all rankings: fighting for power, for glory, for a chance to own every inch of the city. HYUN CHOI was born into such a world, fighting for his own survival on the streets, making his home anywhere he could, thieving, fighting, staying alive for just one more day.

That is until the notorious leader of the SHANGHAI BUND, took him in. He was fed, clothed, given a roof over his head -- a bed to sleep in every night. To say he was grateful would have been an understatement. The powerful man, like any leader in his position, wished for heirs -- someone to take over after himself. While that was never going to be Hyun, he still held a crucial part in the overall plan. No, the one bred to lead was none other than his own childhood friend, JIAN CHEN. Friend, and the closest thing Hyun could ever call a brother -- as it was known he would never be the one to inherit the Bund, he held no ill will against him. He was supportive, proud of Jian. Would he not stand by him no matter the life they both shared, what roles they played? Hyun himself was groomed to be the perfect soldier for the family -- a shield for when his friend needed him. His “father” trained him to be the best fighter, to know how to kill more ways than one really needed, to know any and every weapon that could be available to him. He himself became a weapon, a force to be reckoned with.

He was strong, reckless, unstoppable -- those in the Bund respected him, both with his rank and abilities. Any of them who didn’t, any who questioned him or what he could do, oh -- he made sure to remind them. He still at his “father’s” side, along with Jian -- quickly rose to the top with the rest of Shanghai Bund. They were the most powerful group in the city, owning properties all over, laying claim to anything they could get their hands on. But that power attracted only discord as one day, someone was bold enough to try and take it. It was that day the leader of the Shanghai Bund perished, leaving behind two young men to pick up everything he had left behind for them.

Now at the young age of 21, Hyun is the new right hand of the Bund. Standing faithfully beside it’s new leader, Jian. As most accepted the new leadership without question, it was those that looked down upon them as much too young to lead that was the problem. Killed those who dare to go against them, fought with any who decided they were a better fit. While Hyun knew most in the Bund was loyal to a fault, the future for them was almost uncertain, shaky. What would become of the Shanghai Bund? Only time would tell.

JIAN CHEN ( @mocnlove ): More than just a childhood friend, but the only person Hyun had growing up -- only thing to a brother. While himself was made into a weapon, Jian was born to be a leader, even if he hadn’t known at first. Standing faithfully and wholly by his side as Jian took over after their “father’s” untimely death, Hyun would do anything for his friend -- as he knew it was the same for the other.
